an Eisenhower-era mass deportation called “Operation Wetback.”

What the actual fuck, and also what the actual fuck that people are saying the name of this operation so nonchalantly on television this morning.

You can tell who thinks in those terms by how smoothly the words roll off their tongues.

Because they’re gleeful as fuck to be able to call immigrants what they want to for once.

The best (?) part was when Kasich was trying to explain that you can’t forcibly rip 11 million people from their homes and ship them to the desert and OF COURSE he got booed. You could feel the bloodlust from the audience.

I thought Kasich would have pulled ahead of the pack by now, on account of not being a farce or troll or clown. But even with his very conservative policies, he’s way too mainstream for this audience. Too rational.

People liked him. I liked him. I Like Ike, right? The expression, ‘I like Ike.’

Gah, he seriously talks on an 8-year-old level, the way he cuts himself off with incoherent non-sequiturs and all of those strange irrelevant topic diversions he does in mid-sentence.

His State of the Union speech would be a tremendous wreck of off-the-cuff thoughts interspersed with odd thrown-in opinions:

“Thank you, Speaker — by the way, isn’t he great? The Speaker. We played golf the other day, he’s not bad... but he could work on his putting game [turns to look behind him, winks, and says ‘..you really could!’] ...”

Trump was on the tv and I was sitting here with my mom and grandma. I said, “it’s like someone gave their drunk uncle a microphone.” And they said, “why? He’s a smart business man.” I was like, “.............”

Jeebus, the Operation name could have been a touch less racist and maybe a bit more subtle?

I’m surprised that Trump knew enough to not say the name of the operation during the debate. That would have been interesting...

Well the program itself could have stood to be a little less racist and more subtle, so I say the name fits.

Ike also engaged in massive domestic government spending, had tax rates up to 90% (effective rates were lower, but still higher than today), warned against military-industrial complex, and had an atoms for peace program that built nuclear reactors in Iran and Pakistan.

Sounds like a librul to me...

Apparently there are some Hispanics on his FB page that have said they he has their vote. I just don’t fucking get it. At least vote for one of the other Republicans who’s just a drop less racist than this orange caricature of a person.

Some people respond to an unjust world by trying to make it better and some respond by trying to pretend it isn’t unjust and they just have to do x, y, and z and they’ll be safe. “I’m not like other *insert group here*s”/ingratiating yourself to the ruling group is one way to do that.

And stack on his reference to how the “wall” between Israel and Palestine “works” was just precious. I guess if by “works” he meant provides for a barrier across which both sides can lob projectile explosives, sure. I mean hell, it worked so well in the Butter Battle.

Even down to the hair, Trump is like a racist Dr. Seuss. That or a petulent child.
