Hooray for police accountability! Too bad it only comes when there’s a dead white child... and black cops.

Maybe it's less to do about race and more to do with Louisiana State Police being competent at their jobs.

Nope, we got a murder charge in the “shooting in the back” incident in South Carolina as well.

Wow, if you read the Guardian story, it really paints a picture of a department completely out of control. Sounds like there might not have even been a warrant - investigators haven’t “found” it. And even if someone isn’t complying and is driving away, firing into a car in a residential neighborhood doesn’t really seem like good policing. For fuck’s sake, just pick him up elsewhere - at work, when he’s getting out of his car, whatever.

So, did they have the wrong guy? Is this department just a roving band of executioners? I guess “inconveniencing Marshalls” is now a capital offense.

Since this is LA, I’m wondering if these cops were moonlighting... And murdered a man and his son for business purposes. In which case, is argue for a death penalty I don't believe in.

In so many places in this country, the cops function just like a gang, like a state-sanctioned criminal organization. It’s sickening.

Another victory for body cameras! You think any of this would’ve happened without them?

Honest question- is it the issue with most folks on this site that cops are racist, that cops are just assholes, or both?

I think the problem people have is that they aren’t held accountable when the do illegal things. Being assholes and racist probably lead to the illegal behavior.

The body cam footage needs to be out and played on Times Square for all to see. Not all cops are bad but there clearly is a lack of adequate training that has resulted in police viewing everything as a threat. Gone are the days of, “Freeze! Put your hands up!”. The blame could be shared all around multiple organizations, and really we're at a point where in order to fix the system, requires a full teardown. I want to go on and on but this stuff is so commonplace that I'm numb to it. Please vote Bernie Sanders into office America, do the world this one failure and we'll stop talking about your war crimes.

I think there are a lot of us who can go without seeing that footage. This is one time where they are saying it’s bad and justice seems to be moving swiftly. I will believe them 95%, on what they are saying. No need for me to see some cops assassinate a child. Now, had justice not moved on the case, then yes the whole world should see it, but seeing one more dead child, there have already been far too many.

I never want to see it because all I can think of is the child.

Last night’s World News (either ABC or NBC, can’t remember) showed a video of a child blue in the face being strangled by cords from blinds as his mother screamed hysterically in the background trying to get her child down. He survived and they made their point, but still...

      Chilling.

i never thought i’d see the day when snuff films became a regular feature on news reports. as valuable as these body cams are in revealing the true circumstances of these encounters, i fear people will eventually become so immune to the killings that they become nothing more than entertainment.

Think of these devils from hell the next time you hear the one about cops who “feared for their lives,” or some elaborate narrative involving an unarmed “suspect” who was behaving suspiciously by backing up his car, reaching for his waistband, breathing too hard, giving the cops a funny look, talking disrespectfully—wherever the law enforcement PR gang happens to have set the goal posts at any given moment, to justify any given killing.

Those disgusting defenders of the cops who swarmed online when this story first emerged, slavering and foaming in their rush to attack Chris Few and to blame him for the death of his poor, poor little boy—those people should feel some shame. A momentary twinge, at the very least.

But of course, most of them are quite incapable of shame.

Besides, it’s quite obvious the cop-worshipers have already radically changed their story based on the fact that while the little boy and his father were white, these killer cops are black—meaning that in the hive-mind these two have ceased to be Real Cops and have instead become Trayvon Martin in uniform, thus no longer eligible for the automatic exemption from civilized behavior granted to cops who torture, terrorize, brutalize and kill.

Cop worshippers are actively (and knowingly) supporting abusive, sick fucks to rule their communities like gang bosses, because they think they are on the winning team. I won’t take any unconditional cop support to mean anything else.

I’ve noticed (through Facebook) that the people I know who support the police the most are also the most racist. I’m sure there’s an easy correlation to be found there.

These guys had a beef with the victim. They killed his son and lied about it. Should be first degree murder.

As I understand it, first-degree murder charges require evidence of premeditation. At least, that’s my impression.

Not in Louisiana. Premeditated murder of one adult is still 2nd degree. First degree can be charged in the premeditated murder of a child, or if there are multiple victims. Not to be morbid but if Few dies the charges may be upgraded.

If this was a bar exam question I'd say that they could be charged with 1st under the Felony Murder Rule, but because of the added hurdles to overcome for a conviction - and the death penalty implications - I think 2nd will be sufficient to send these assholes to Angola for the rest of their days.

To say there’s a backstory here would the understatement of the century. Somebody didn’t pay back a loan; somebody disrespected somebody’s family; somebody fooled around with somebody’s girl; snitches get stitches bullets — I think we all get it. This was not just an unjustified shooting; this really was probably a straight up murder.

I would think that if crooked cops wanted someone murdered, they would have the resources and knowledge to make people disappear. Haven’t they ever seen Dexter?

Or at least get the fake paperwork squared away to justify their actions.

every cop apologist who called the dad horrible names should make a $100 contribution to a fund for this family. And next time, maybe wait to heap judgement on the victims until more of the story comes out than just the law’s side of the story.

Darren Wilson f’d up. When he backed the SUV into a position where Brown could close the door on him he also was in a position to have Brown shove a knife into his throat. Why would Wilson make a mistake like that? Wilson was angry at being called ‘pussy.’ Then when he pulled his gun to threaten (not arrest) Brown, Brown pushed it away. When Wilson pulled the trigger and shattered the window, Wilson knew Brown would testify about the threat. That’s why Wilson didn’t follow in the SUV; he had to have a clear shot and needed to chase and taunt Brown into turning before shooting him.

Unless you believe Wilson and think that a guy the size of an NFL linebacker could repeatedly punch Wilson in the face without leaving a broken nose, split lip, or black eye. In which case, I’d love to see a linebacker punch you in the face a half-dozen times to prove it doesn’t leave a mark.

tl;dr Wilson either lied about the whole event or is incompetent. Doesn’t deserve money or a job.
