Which “we’re ugly, you’re ugly, but not really” episode was this? Was this one of the ones were everyone who was ugly was tiny, or the one where they were really small?

It may not be as well-known as “To Serve Man”, but it’s a classic episode worthy of being mentioned among the best.

“If the heirs can only find shreds of money and if the origin of the money is assured, then of course it can all be replaced.”

In all yahoo seriousness, is this some nutty Aussie thing? Cash is replaceable by their reserve if it can be reasonably established as having existed?

Giving the money to a charity

If she wasted it like that she wouldn’t be able to spite anyone with it though.

I don’t get the sense that it would have made her relatives any less angry had she given it to charity vs shred it.

If she had given the money away though they would have never been able to claim it, but now it seems like they will. :(

    Typical rookie mistake.

What you’re supposed to do is make your heirs spend the night in a giant dilapidated mansion that is haunted by vengeful and violent spirits so that your heirs can be driven insane before being dispatched to Hell in a gruesome and ironic manner.

I’d do that, building an elaborate mansion with spooks and scares and special effects. Once morning came, I’d play a hologram explaining to any remaining people that I used the 1.1 million to build the mansion.

Bad idea. Then you’d be leaving them a mansion they could sell. Better to rent one. Far more wasteful.

Reminds me of the KLF’s stunt of burning a million quid just to prove they weren’t sellouts:

Before my grandmother died, she gathered all us heirs together in a very old wooden room and we leaned in over her very old wooden bed and she said, “I never made any money as a living person and now I am dead.” We were very angry that she didn’t become money when she stopped being alive so we left pretty quickly.

Stone. Cold. I know this was an absurd and petty thing, but I can’t help feeling extremely impressed.

yeah, the sentiment is what really counts! But I want to know more about those “heirs”! They had to be total assholes for her do that, assuming she was not totally crazy.

This is why, if you want to spite people by destroying money, you burn it.
