I’m still at work. What’s even the point of leaving?

I’m starting vitamin D supplements. I’m hoping it will stave off the horror. I just need to make it to March 1st.

Sweet Baby J, March 1 is my birthday and I will tell you that the horror only lingers. I know this benchmark, and I can tell you that darkness and moist freeze is status quo until mid-April.

Oh yes. I live in Boston, I know the fun isn't over March 1st. But for me, knowing we move the clocks ahead soon, the bitter cold doesn't bite quite so badly, and spring will arrive soon. In other words, it's the home stretch.

I didn’t change the clock in my car over the weekend. When I was driving home from work today as the sun was setting, I could look at its false glow and be reassured that it was actually after 6 PM.

Lies will sustain me this winter. Lies and hot cocoa.

I always forget to change the clock in the truck. The moment of panic when I think I’m an hour late for something is cheaper than a cup of $bux.

On the bright side it’s going to be like 70 degrees and muggy all week in New York. So it will just be like a mild version of Hell yeah?

Toronto too! I hate it, have no clue to what to wear. All of my awesome winter clothes are just sitting there, gathering dust.

I have to leave for work at 7am and drive 22 miles on the interstate, most of it at 75+ mph. For the past few weeks, it has been in darkness, and I kept getting sleepy even if I got plenty of rest the night before. Anecdotally, I know I’m not the only one. As much as 5:30pm darkness sucks, I would personally rather have that than dying in a fiery pre-dawn crash.

I leave the house between 4:30 and 5:00 AM. If I wasn’t going from store to store all day I’d never see daylight until April.

I struggle with anxiety, and one of the sources is bright light. I love cloudy days and early nightfall, though I feel badly for those of you who don’t.

There is a light/lamp you can purchase (maybe with an rx) that according to my friend who uses it helps in the am for the rest of the day.

Funny you should mention... The Alaska PFD was $2,100 this year. For each member of my household. And no state income tax.

I have maybe 15-20 years left on this planet and I’ll be damned if I’m going to spend them listening to you tight-pantsed hipsters moan about trivial shit.

Get off my dark, cold, leaf-strewn lawn.
