You have to be kidding me. The whole world had been trying to kill the fucking guy since 2011. I am sure they got a bunch of lawyers involved because what a way to run up additional taxpayers money to pay for more bullshit expenditures on shit they know they are going to do anyway but bin laden was never going to walk out of anywhere alive because what the fuck would they have done with him if he had

First of all, the official story is that Obama killed Bin Laden in 2011 so I have no idea what you’re talking about with this “since 2011” stuff.

Second of all, Bin Laden died of health complications years prior to that, but Obama still needed a boogeyman to keep his covert ops going and to build a legacy as the guy who got the guy. Why do you think he was “burried” at sea? There was no body.

Are you really upset they paid for a CYA memo on the highest profile kill order since our attempts on Castro? That facade of legality is a very important part of a civilian controlled military.

I’m generally against killings and stuff like that and tend to be more on the “bring them to justice” side of the coin, but in this caseI’m pretty okay with the fact that they went in with the intention of killing him.

Yeah this whole story sort of falls under “Who gives a shit?” territory.

Except Bin Laden died in 2009 of pneumonia and this entire operation is not true.

    ***MEMORANDUM***

From: Department of Defense general counsel Jeh Johnson, Joint Chiefs of Staff legal advisor Adam Crawford, CIA counsel Stephen Preston, and National Security Council legal advisor Mary DeRosa

To: The Office Of the President Of the United States

Subject: In re: Legal Framework for Apprehending Osama Bin Laden

    *****************************************************

You have asked us to provide legal support for an operation in which we enter on to foreign territory without informing the local sovereign government, launch a strike on a compound where Osama Bin Laden resides, and on whether or not we are able to kill him. Find below our formal legal opinion on the matter.

    Foundation

Our opinion is premised on the following key facts

    1. America has the most guns

    2. America the biggest guns

    3. All Americans who are not traitors that should be tried and executed as such hate Osama Bin Laden

    Conclusion

As such, fuck that guy with a rusty rake, and fuck anyone who has a problem with us taking that son of a bitch out.

Well, yea. I mean I can’t say I blame them. They should have been prepared for it. When you chase somebody for that long, you actually develop almost a fondness and respect for the person, even though you despise that person for their horrible acts. And that act of pursuit fills many voids in your life

Didn’t you see the end of Point Break?

Whether right or wrong, the actual way they made it lawful was fairly simple. On that night, they weren’t Seal Team 6, under the command of the DoD. They were sheep-dipped as CIA operatives, and under the orders of Leon Panetta. The CIA has far less restrictions concerning how and where they can operate when outside of a war zone. This type of thing hasn’t really happened in the past 20 years, but since 9/11, the CIA is more of a paramilitary organization than an intelligence-gathering organization.

Well, yeah. The Obama administration’s preferred solution for the Gitmo problem is to simply execute all targets on the spot or by remote control, and thus avoid the problem altogether.
