      I had a friend try to commit suicide like 10 times and finally I just told her “Listen Betsy WTF is wrong with you? You jump off like the littlest little cliff, you shoot yourself in the face with a pellet gun, you drink yourself into the hospital but don’t even bother to take sleeping pills or anything, and you’re just a freaking disaster.” Her Facebook page was super annoying.

      This type of post is the derivative of a humble-brag. Why don’t you just make the “She was just crying for attention” post instead of whoring for stars by making the “I cannot WAIT for the ‘She was just crying for attention’” post?

    A powerful reminder that there’s actual consequences to the actions of others. Her son died—was essentially murdered— far before his time, in a way that violates so many different notions of what we can reasonably expect in life, and its impossible to comprehend what she must be going through. Whatever it is, it must be unbelievably painful.

        When I had my baby some nine months ago, the thing I wasn’t, and probably couldn’t have ever been, prepared for was the way my world was filled with the complete terror of all the things that could happen to him, and it haunts my nightmares. When my post-partum depression was at its worst, I didn't even have to be asleep for my nightmares anymore.

        I’d like to say that I have no idea how she must be feeling after the loss of her child, but I’m afraid that the curse of a well-developed imagination is that I can imagine it far, far too vividly.

          I’m waiting for the trolls to invalidate her pain, because she received a cash settlement. I hope she pulls through. No one should ever have to bury their child.
