He was ready to swoop in and save the Democratic nominations process if it looked like Hillary was going to face legal challenges, or even more likely, if she got in her own way. And then she did a great job at the debate, and there’s no room for him on the bus, and he’s too sad and tired to fight for a seat.

  He didn’t set up campaign operations, but the Draft Biden people did, and were ready to hand it over to him at a moment’s notice. Plus, he has been calling meetings with all the big fundraisers and early state power players for a while. I’m just giving my theory of how the whole thing went down after closely following him and Hillary for years.

  That would rob the American public of the forthcoming reality series, “Joe to Joe”. It consists of Joe Biden and Joe the Plumber starting on opposite sides of the country making their way to a meeting point somewhere in the middle of the country, while a camera crew documents their wacky interactions with regular Americans. In the series finale, they meet up, strip down to their underwear and fight to the death.

My favorite punditry of the day, though, will almost certainly go to Willie Geist, who said on ‘Morning Joe’ that Rep. Trent Gowdy has “bent over backwards” to make sure the Benghazi Committee has been completely fair and that politics didn’t play any role in the committee’s work. You might think he laughed like a hyena after saying that, but he did not. He looked at the camera like he was pleading for someone to believe him. Must’ve lost a bet.

The speculation that Biden would run was purely a media creation.

They don’t want to report on a Hillary coronation. They want to follow a horse race. So even though Hillary has led Bernie by 20 points, there are “Hillary in trouble!” headlines. Even though she has been investigated by the Republicans for over 20 years, we get reports that Biden will run as an insuranec policy against “skeletons in Hillary’s closet.” (What skeletons? What could there possibly be that hasn’t already had 18 senate subcommittees after it?)

Add in that there’s no natural base of support for him, he polled in single digits that last 2 times he ran, he had set up no campaign operations anywhere, and no one outside of a Washington TV green room is clamoring for him to run, it’s amazing that anyone ever took this seriously.

Columnist Charles Krauthammer visited Fox News on Monday to predict that Biden would run as an “insurance policy” in case Clinton was indicted by the FBI, or something.

That’s the laziest neo-conservative bit of political spin I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something.
