Good. He’s too moderate and will just take steam away from Bernie. It’s time for Uncle Joe to retire.

I’ve said it before, but for me the overriding issue in this election is Ruth Bader Ginsburg being 82

The Dems need to nominate someone that can win. And win twice.

Then we wait out Antonin Scalia’s cholesterol.

Someone should send two dozen canoli to the Supreme Court everyday for the next year to speed it all along.

Not surprised. Hillary did great in that debate. Still, go Bernie.

If Hillary takes the primary I want Bernie as her running mate! I don't want to have to vote for Hillary, but voting 3rd party is a waste of a vote and I sure as hell can't vote republican, so VP Bernie would soften the blow.

It would a very calculating move to get the base shored up. As it is, most view her as Republican-lite.

Good. We already have one war criminal running on Obama’s record in Hillary. I have seen conflicting numbers about whether or not Biden’s entry would have helped or hindered our boy Bernie, but either way I’m glad I don’t have to read Twitter nonsense about this dude anymore. I’m sure Hillary offered him some absurd cabinet post, too bad she isn’t going to win. And all you fuckers who say we have to nominate her to win the general election sure do have short memories. I’m pretty sure that was the narrative in 2008 and how did that work out?

Well, that’s too bad. Not because I as particularly interested in seeing him win, but because now the Democratic primary is solely populated by people who won’t do much of anything over-the-top or hilarious on the campaign trail. Hilary’s too focused, Sanders is too sincere, and Chafee simply isn’t interesting enough to matter. The odds of us getting to see a John Edwards style scandal crater a campaign instantly are now essentially zero.

The Republican primary is going to be much more fun to watch.

No, I doubt he would have. A guy who wants to run for President and then lets it out of his pants so much that he fathers a love child while cheating on his cancer-stricken wife, is not a person who uses good judgment. Yeah he had some good policy ideas, but that’s not the only thing you need to be considered a good President.

The scenario I thought about last week: Hillary Clinton flames out and Bernie wins the Dem nomination (to the chagrin of the money folks behind the dems). Trump wins the Republican nomination (to the horror of every sane person). The result: A third party independent run from the middle. Bush/Webb or Bush/McCaskill. They have three times the funding of the other individuals and have the party structures unify around them or at least not join for Trump or Bernie.

Bush is not the middle. In the scenario you describe, Bush would siphon off votes only from Trump, leaving Sanders with, at the very least, a plurality (like Bill Clinton had in 1992).

I agree a Trump/Sanders general election would bring out a 3rd party candidate. My bet would be Bloomberg/Bayh or Bloomberg/Huntsman.

Oh, I just got my answer: use the same script anyway! Andrea Mitchell just said Biden’s speech declining to run was “the same speech he would have used had he been announcing a run.” Why bother even thinking when you’ve got pre-written material to recycle?

There are a lot of people who feel that way. Bernie is very liberal, and the key to winning is getting the middle. Hillary is the moderate, but at this point, I wouldn’t trust her as far as I could throw her and I know I’m not alone on that one. A lot of people were hoping Biden would run - he’s the more trustworthy Hillary.
