They’re sandwich artists, and their art is helping to break down our preconceived notions of artificial social constructs like “units of measure”.

These judicial constraints are crippling their free artistic expression.

“If you can’t see that it’s really a foot long, then you just don’t know good art.”

I haven’t eaten Subway in eons, but what really chapped my hide in the past wasn’t necessarily the liberties they took in dubbing their sandwiches foot-longs.

It was that sad, limp bread that almost appeared as if it was frowning at you. That bread was so sad. So sad.

It’s so terrible that everyone wants an extra inch of it.

It was the most depressed bread. Also, the last time I ate it, they were in the middle of one of their countless reformulations, and it tasted and felt, literally, like it was made largely of sawdust.

I remember when Subway was new and their food really wasn’t half-bad (including the bread). Bland, but fresh and clean, satisfying enough if you were hungry. And you could always condiment and spice the hell out of it if you wanted more flavor.

It seems like after beating out Quizno’s (which remains inexplicable to me), they stopped giving a damn.

    Uh...is...is that even legal?

Sure sounds invasive. Who am I kidding; wouldn’t affect me even if I did eat at a Subway ‘organization.’

Subway would be voluntarily binding itself to the terms of a class action settlement. It’s not like Congress is coming in and making a law specifically targeting Subway.

It’s not the length, it’s the girth anyway.

They will, however, be allowed to use this equation in determining the actual length.

I admire Subway’s optimism for assuming that mine’s a foot long.

This is dumb. They should have argued that “footlong” was nominal. It’s worked for the wood industry for, well, forever. A 2x12 is 11 1/4" wide.

No, I like it too. Every time I read people complaining about how awful it is I want to go there. I have yet to actually go so I haven't been in a couple years.
