No joke, I’d probably be tempted to throw myself under the wheels of oncoming traffic if my dog got mowed down in front of me.

But then, my dog is the fucking business and I’m a little batshit bananas.

Yep. Note to local drivers, coyotes, bobcats, raccoons: if you’re going to take my cat out might as well take me too. She’s the only living creature I have an ounce of trust remaining.

This is word for word what I was thinking. I can’t imagine what seeing my dog violently killed would be like. I can’t even go there. But even worse than that I think would be losing him and never being able to find him. I think I’d be in a mental hospital if that happened.

I dunno, when my last dog died and I had to cross the street from the vet to my house after just taking him less than hour before not knowing it would be his last hour I don’t think I would have been too upset if I was just fatally hit by a bus

This was me yesterday went to the vet with my dog, left the vet without my dog. I’m heartbroken. Can I just crawl under the covers forever?

I didn’t need a Fast & the Furious remake of Old Yeller to end my day, but there it is. Could we pick one day a week to just have stories about people doing good things and living? You know, as a palette cleanser? Feel Good Fridays?

I have to detach myself. You said it. I'll go lay with my 16 year old dog and practice gratitude

Can someone explain how a pedistrian accident can occur on a road like that?
Seems rather flat with long sightlines. The dog I can understand, maybe it dashed into the road. But how can you not see a person in the middle of the day on that road?

Apparently it was pretty dark, around 5 AM. According to one of the linked stories, people also tend to go 70-80 mph there.

And, of course, the deputy wasn’t making any effort to direct traffic around this traumatized guy who felt he needed to wash away his dog’s remains.

      So... perfect storm, pretty much.

The tragedy was made even worse, officials say, by the presence of a young officer who witnessed the whole thing.

Wow. And the Saddest Story on the Internet Today award goes to...

I can only imagine witnessing that. Would fuck me up for more than a little while.

Knowing how attached I am to my dog, I might have wanted it that way.

I’m gonna be an absolute mess when my dog goes.
