What we need is an economic system where you can quit your job and get a new one if you want.

I also think it is important to accept without question that every Amazon employee cries at their desk.

“What we need is an economic system where you can quit your job and get a new one if you want.”

Um, you can. Have you never read the, “employment at will,” section of your new hire packet? Any company I’ve ever worked for includes that. Pretty standard.

Corporate America isn’t easy, but it’s a Hell of a lot better than what most humans have had to deal with for the majority of human history. Actually, it’s a lot better than what most people are dealing with around the world, right now. I’ll take a cold boss with no tolerance for my personal feelings over you know, scavaging for food, or dying of a small cut.

The two hours of labor a day thing was nice while it lasted though.

Baquet’s response deserves its own article. In polite and respectful language, he bisects Carney head to torso.

The problem is that it doesn’t matter. Carney knows politics well. This is what Cheney was talking about when he said facts don’t matter. His case for war against Iraq was entirely bollocks. Just utter garbage that is even worse considering that they made up a bunch of shit. But it didn’t matter because the people who sat down and looked at it and wrote respectful rebuttals were drowned out by then.

I am no fan of Uber and I am no fan of Amazon. Both companies deliver cheap products to consumers quickly at low cost on the backs of there workers. Sorry but my dollars have morals.

I’ll leave the deep analysis and wit to my “kinja betters”; they are legion, and much beloved by me.

But anymore, I keep saying to myself, “The Morlocks were the heroes of the story”.

I never wanted to think that way, and it breaks my heart and spirit because it becomes less hyperbole and more fucking true with each passing day...

    Cheers anyway, mates.

You should send this article to the commerce team. They are always wanting me to spend money at the bastard Amazon.

Jay Carney’s style of “They’re a bunch of yooooge loooosers” is much more polite than Donald Trump’s spiel but far less honest.

It’s funny that there are so many anti-Amazon stories on this site, while Lifehacker reports on when Kindles and Prime are discounted.

Why is Amazon allowed to quote employee reviews from the HR file? Aren’t these supposed to be private?

Jay Carney should work for Theranos, too. Actually, it’s a nice cottage industry in Silicon Valley, ranting about journalists (especially east coast journalists whose livelihood does not depend on tossing the Valley’s collective salad) who don’t treat these companies and ‘entrepreneurs’ like they’re honest, upstanding geniuses who invariably put employees, customers, and the world at large ahead of their egos, their investors, and their own stock options.
