Well.. fuck. I actually like what Uber offers. Their business practices... not so much, but when I was stuck outside in the rain for hours and hours unable to grab a cab because they wanted to only get groups of 4 or 5 for max money, even after I called three companies to reserve a cab... ugh. You learn to appreciate it. Fix your shit, Uber.

I have the same moral dilemma. Hate the company, love the service out here where cabs fear to tread.

I’ve never heard of a cab company charging based on the number of passengers on a ride?

Also, try Lyft? Or Flywheel is slowly expanding across the west coast at least.

They’re “Uber Partners” not employees, even if the courts say otherwise. So it means, Uber could actually care less about these privacy breaches, unless it’s about their customers.

If Uber “could care less,” then the error probably would’ve been caught and fixed prior; however, since they “couldn’t care less,” the drivers got screwed.

    An update from Uber:

“We were notified about a bug impacting a fraction of our US drivers earlier this afternoon. Within 30 minutes our security team had fixed the issue. We’d like to thank the driver who drew it to our attention and apologize to those drivers whose information may have been affected. Their security is incredibly important to Uber and we will follow up with them directly.”

So, what’s their plan to permanently help protect the drivers that had their personal data leaked to the world from identity theft?

Ha. It’s like they can do nothing right. Nothing. Not even the basics.

This sort of headline could grab people’s attention. But only if it involves a corporation which isn’t already notoriously unreliable.

From ride sharing to data sharing. Looks like they're expanding their interests.
