Does Gloria Allred ambulance-chase these victims that are sure to help insert her into the spotlight? I remember when the Scott Peterson shit was going on, she was very quick to attach herself to Amber Frey, as if Amber Frey proclaimed “Allred. Get me Allred!” ..Theoretically she didn’t really need an attorney, but Allred pretty much stepped up and became her spokeswoman... This pic says it all, “C’mon, sweetie, I’ll handle this. (Oh, and look pissed..)”

I always wondered that too. She always seems to get involved with the high profile cases, but is she just pushing herself in or do people ask for her? I’m sure if she offered her support, most people would take it, but she does seem to have an ambulance chasing style.

I usually agree with her, though she does get on my nerves with some of the cases she’ll take (the suit against the Boy Scouts comes to mind, which didn’t get as much press since Allred was also busy representing Nicole Brown’s family at the same time).

As opposed to Marty Singer, who all of Hollywood knows to call if you just beat the fuck out of the seventeen year you just took a blowjob from because they used their teeth too much?

In the past, he didn’t seem that savvy about his responses to the questions and allegations- he was a huge star and he just didn’t see what the problem was. I wonder with the number and seriousness of the accusations he’ll either realize (or have to act like) this is a big deal and be more careful in his responses.

He’ll act annoyed that this is happening and still act like it’s not a big deal. I hope this leaks

My guess is no. He is clearly an arrogant, ego-driven asshole who thinks he is the smartest person in the room.

My money is on him saying whatever the hell he feels like, even against his lawyer’s advice, and shooting himself in the foot.

      Should be fun.

A complete aside: I have a daughter about that age and watching Raven act all of that out is really fucking impressive — it’s very convincingly acted. Just trying to picture my 4-year-old to say all those memorized lines so naturally with all that sassy shit, we’d need to do like 1600 takes from all the distractions, inadvertent giggling and demands for apple juice. I think Cosby Show was taped in front of a live audience, and with the audience reaction (clearly not canned laughter) it seems like this might have all been done in one take. I don’t know a lot about her career and skills otherwise, so I cannot verify if That’s so Raven.

(Bonus: Cosby in that clip: “When I put my hand on the mother, I can feel things movin’ all around” .. Ominous!)

Someone should start a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds necessary to bribe a court official for those transcripts. I’d personally contribute at least $4.

For those keeping score, Cosby’s testimony will be his first lead role in a drama in quite some time.

Calling it now. They’ll find Cosby’s body a day before the deposition is released. Pill overdose, with a tearful suicide note about how he just wanted to bring joy to the world and the media decided to destroy him.

This was 1974— how does one test the accuracy or legitimacy of testimony from so long ago? These days, we at least have electronic trails to follow to piece together what we were doing a few years ago, but 42 years ago? What kind of evidence are they going to present other than memories?

And someone brought up a good point: why isn’t Hugh Hefner being called to the mat for this? A lot of the allegations involve the Playboy Mansion or Playboy clubs, and it sounds like Cosby was a preferred customer. I doubt Hefner had no idea what went on, and I suspect that he helped facilitate these incidents.

If a lot of stuff happened at the Playboy mansion, and no one is saying Hef had anything to do with it, it’s probably he had nothing to do it, despite a lot people wanting him to be guilty of something. The victims would have called him out by now.

The photo of Huth and Cosby, if real, was in the game house on the grounds, not in the mansion. She was most likely on a tour or found her way in and encountered Cosby on the grounds. He did hang out there, and played tennis. She had he picture taken with a celebrity, that is it. The rest of her story is a lie.

It was the seventies. It was Los Angeles. The prime commodity there during that time—outside of primo “Blow” (no pun unintended), was nubile, flaxen-haired young girls. One day, MAYBE...someone will unspool before cameras the story, the AWFUL story of how an entire group of people, namely attractive, vulnerable (and as is often the case—misplaced affection/acceptance-seeking) teenage girls were and in some cases STILL are being commoditized into a thing for powerful men to consume and then effectively discard. That movie won’t happen now. Too many of the participants, procurers and enablers are still alive and their seconds/acolytes who’ve moved into positions of power as their bosses aged out would be implicated for their involvement at the time.

The bigger story is the crux of what happened to the young woman in the Roman Polanski rape case AND has been lightly touched on in a couple of movies, most notably Adrian Lyne’s “Foxes” from 1980, with Jodie Foster and Cherie Currie playing two of the titular “Foxes” and Arthur Penn’s burnt-out, neo-noir, Gene Hackman vehicle “Night Moves” from ‘75—starring a 16-year-old, nude-scene-doing Melanie Griffith. Yikes. :(

A “California Good-Looking” fifteen-year-old girl at the Playboy Mansion in ‘74 should surprise no one. And THIS woman coming forward about what happened to her makes her one of the few of probably scores or even hundreds who got debased there. Sh*t...it happened to some who I’ll bet were so dosed on knockout drugs they MAY have but a hazy, “Did that happen?”, faint remembrance of the incident. The sh*t that went down in The Valley then—and really for many, many years before AND after the pill-filled seventies would make your head spin. Trust me...what she’s talking about here ain’t exactly earth-shattering if you’ve ever worked with people from the biz who were there at the time and heard them tell you what that town was about.

After Holly Madisons book claiming Hef kept his girls all drugged up and now at least 2 of Cosbys assaults happening at the Playboy Mansion, I seriously think we need to investigate Hef. Isn’t it illegal to serve minors even in a private residence? Then you add drugs and assault to the mix!
