This article is very confusing about whether she was actually legally a child at the time of the assault. The article says 18, but “childhood sexual assault” as sued under only applies to people under the age of 18. I believe there was a link yesterday that clarified that the party allegedly occurred a month or two before her 18th birthday, when she was still 17.

The actual lawsuit does not state when the party occurred, only that she was born in May 1990, and that she went to a party where she saw Cosby in 2008. So, if the party was before May, she was under 18.

The situation is confusing. This is what I know:

She told the Daily Mail, “I was scared, I was just 18 and he was an old man, I was not very sexually experienced and I didn’t really know what had happened, it was violating.’”

and her complaint literally says “This is an action for childhood sexual abuse pursuant to California Code of Civil Procedure Section 340.1(a). It is less than eight years since CHLOE GOINS has attained the age of majority.”

Weird. If you look up “childhood sexual abuse” in section 340.1, the definition requires the victim to be under 18.

The first paragraph says she was 18 at the time of the assault—but how does that = child sexual assault? I’ll be curious to see if the case gets to move forward since an 18 year old is not a minor.

I’m on all of the women’s sides in this situation, but I’m just curious about the child sexual assault tag that they are using.

Chloe Goins is not the same person as Judy Huth, as much as women appear to be indistinguishable and interchangeable molestation objects to Bill “Hey-hey-hey gonna have a good time” Cosby.

Judy Huth was 15 when Cosby allegedly molested her. Goins was 18.

Although I don't know how she can sue for childhood sexual abuse if she was 18 at the time.

Has anyone alleged that Hef was helping Cosby do his raping? There seems to be a lot of raping at the Playboy Club and Playboy Mansion.

To be fair I’m sure there was always a lot of raping going on with Playboy, even when Cosby wasn’t there.

“...I offer this message to those brave women: your experience was just like mine and mine just like yours. We are not alone, we did not ask for these attacks, and these attacks are not our fault.”

I had no idea who Goins was previously, but now I’m super impressed with her. Bravo.

Bill takes the predatory sickness inherent in the sheer, overwhelming number of victims, and ramps the grossness of it all to 11 with the weirdness of his activities. The violation of the women is bad enough, but the combination of his actions with the idea that he had to have the women unconscious in order to carry them out just makes him look like one weird motherfucker.

She claims he gave her a drink that made her so “foggy” that Playboy boss Hugh Hefner himself told her she looked like she needed to lie down and offered the use of a bedroom

So I guess we’ve collectively decided to let old papa Hefner off the hook for helping Cosby do this shit for 40 years?

FWIW, it’s completely possible to be horrified by Cosby without throwing in a misleading headline about childhood sexual abuse.

She was 18. It is still a horrifying act. He is still a horrible human being. He can and should be prosecuted. But using sensationalized and factually incorrect wording only cheapens a very strong argument.

throwing in a misleading headline about childhood sexual abuse.

That is literally what the claim is for. Did you read the complaint, or the section of it quoted in the story?

I was hoping, perhaps irrationally, that I would also see Hugh Hefner named as a defendant in the complaint. It would certainly add an interesting twist to this lawsuit.

How can Goins sue on behalf of Huth? Or is the headline just completely incorrect?
