        One of the best things I saw this summer on my trip to Rome was a young boy carrying a selfie stick with his dad’s smartphone still attached to it. He was waving the stick around and then slipped and smashed the phone into the ground and pieces went flying everywhere. The dad’s face was just amazing. I like to imagine that this happens to stupid tourists at least ten times a day.

        The weirdest thing in that BBC story is this:

        Earlier this year, the Russian government reportedly launched a campaign to make young people think twice before snapping selfies in risky situations.

        This is shocking, because since when does the Russian government give half a damn about human lives?
