        I have zero sympathy for Elton John, who recently stopped for a photo op with the Ukraine coup government’s President Poroshenko:

        Poroshenko has overseen punitive operations in Southeast Ukraine, knowingly sending fascist and in some cases neo-nazi (albeit, of a distinctively Ukrainian variety) forces to brutally crush the Novorossian uprising. This has included significant killing and maiming of civilians there. Poroshenko even bragged about how the children of Novorossia would be stuck in basements, unable to go to school, a state of affairs he was able to bring about temporarily. He clearly declared his intention to punish civilians.

        Russia is one of the only forces standing in the way of U.S. unipolar dominance of the world. Vilifying Russia and Putin just serves the interests of US empire and Zionism. Russia and Putin aren’t beyond criticism, but I have become very suspicious of constant negative western media harping on Russia. Actually, the “hate Russia” campaign was already in full swing ahead of the US-backed coup in the Ukraine. Some good stuff here although the queer theory talk at the end loses me:

        At any rate, Vladimir Putin has more important things to do than talk to a western establishment celebrity lacky like Elton John, like putting out the fires the US and its allies have started in the Ukraine and in Syria. And if EJ seriously thinks Putin has no gay associates in Russia, he is pretty clueless.

          This sounds like an opening for elton john and for lgbt rights. If i was him, i would be seriously emotionally hurt to have been deceived in such a disgusting, unfunny way. However, since he comes across extremely well in this conversation, this prank has the effect of promoting elton johns views and increasing his visibility on this issue. Next, if the kremlin says they are willing to receive a call from him, i would absolutely make that phone call. This is the next logical step. As for these pranksters, shame on them.
