    It's like Kate Spade invaded my dreams to make this commercial. Wait, can I get a commission for that? Maybe just some cute aviators that don't make my tiny face on a large head look like a bug?

      Funny enough I am a Kate Spade fan. I own two of her purses. I like them more than several people I work with. I also like Anna Kendrick and Gloria Steinem. Somehow the three meeting makes me like all three less than I did before. Confusing. Must be that new math or something.

      Eh, I don’t mind it when it’s in an actual commercial. That’s what they’re made for. I feel more judgmental when it’s a celebrity’s instagram account and they just so happen to take a picture of themselves with Random Product They’re Actually Getting Paid to Take a Picture With.

      I have to agree. I had no idea that there was that kind of history behind dining alone, which is awesome . . . but it didn’t seem like the commercial presented dining alone as an empowering act. At best, it’s making the most of a bad situation—but it’s barely that. Maybe this is just because I feel no angst over dining alone?

      Yes. I have never felt awkward doing anything alone. Eating out, movies, etc. No problem at all. So, while I find Anna Kendrick’s character a cute and quirky crazy, if a real person behaved this way alone at a restaurant in public, I would just feel very sad for them.

    I liked the Christmas red and green. I’m not a very big Anna Kendrick fan. I am supposed to like her cuz she’s “regular” and “normal”, but the novelty doesn’t work on me. She seems nice though!

      I feel like I need to know if Gloria Steinem got permission to use that bell hooks quote in a commercial for hand bags...I’m just...I just really don’t understand this at all, because I have so much respect for their work, and it always seemed to point out the problems of corporate hegemony. I just want to really know why she (or they) have chosen to do this, it makes me so uncomfortable.
