How were they supposed to know the dog was unarmed?

How do we know that he was unarmed? Also, can we rule out the possibility that this was an off-the-books hit squad sent specifically to take out this pooch? If so, mission accomplished.

If only the dog was trained to sit and stay upon hearing the command, “STOP RESISTING”.

In the modern ultra-paranoid age, just about anybody (except for corporate suit and tie) can be *spun* as “suspicious looking person”....

Perhaps there should be some mechanism, some hurdle, some burden of proof before crashing into random people’s houses and shooting them and their dog.

If someone reported my house being burglarized I’d want the police to come and investigate.

And who the hell wears a suit and tie any more?

Men’s Wearhouse ought to work that into their ad campaign? “Tired of regularly being fodder for loose-cannon policing? Wear one of our suits and stay alive. I guarantee it!”

Speaking from personal experience, it’s fucked up and scary when your doing your thing in your own home, suddenly your being commanded to put your hands up, and two cops have their guns trained on you, while you’re standing in the kitchen wrapped only in a bath towel.

When I was 13, my crazy mother called the cops on me. Long story short, her bf didn’t like me, so while he was around, she’d lock me out of the house and stuff. I got into an argument with her one time and she called 911. Told them that her kid was aggressive and abusive (yeah not true at all) at the time I was probably experiencing the worst migraine of my life, I was incapacitated in bed and not at all capable of being aggressive or abusive (I was also underweight, maybe 80 pounds)

Cop barges into my room, rips me out of bed and tries to carry me out of the house. I summon adrenaline and grab onto the door hinges with all my life until he lets go, calls backup, and I crawl back into bed. At this point I think I’m dying, I’m in so much pain. Suddenly a second cop shows up, this time a 250 pound African American. The 2 cops grab me, take me to the hall, one knees me in the back so I fall to the floor and they handcuff me. They drive me away to the police station and leave me locked up in the patrol car outside the station for half an hour. They come back, and I tell them “I want to go home” they tell me “this is your new home now” as they drop me off at a group home for druggies and homeless kids.

I keep my house locked up like fort fucking knox just to prevent something like this from happening because my response would be to either get killed or thrown in prison forever.

And my friends wonder why I laugh every time a cop gets hurt. Its because they all deserve it. Every. Single. One. Of. Them.

That cop that got his face blown off in Houston? I’m sure he oppressed someone’s civil rights somewhere, sometime, somehow. Good fucking riddance as far as I’m concerned.

“Suspicious person” call and an unlocked door is grounds for charging into a home, guns drawn, without a warrant? What? Anonymous phone call =/= probable cause. Cops were 100% in the wrong by setting foot in the house.

Cop probably shot himself and they’re being cagey with the details while they concoct a story to cover it up.

So I had a crazy ass dude ask me if he can use my residence to receive his drivers license. I, of course, said NO... But then a month later I check my mail and this dude sure enough used my address and I got his drivers license in my mail with his drivers license... I reported this to the police. They said there’s nothing they can do. I then asked if this dude is a Felon and you guys search for This dude you’re gonna barge into my house ? They said yes that’s a possibility ... That was it ...they gave no fucks about it at all.... And that my friend, unless we sue the fuck out of them, is the problem with your local PD....

You should have bounced the letter back to the DMV. They care that the address is wrong. Well, they care more than the cops do, at any rate.

I didnt want to take the chance of returning it to the DMV cause it probably would have gotten lost or something. So I filed a report with the US Postal Inspectors, they’re the ones you’re suppose to go to apparently. Not sure whatever came of it, but I never heard from the crazy dude again or anything. I guess no news is good news.
