    No mention of him paying for it, though, right? (I’m not clicking through to the original article.) Payment seems to be the closest thing you can get to a smoking gun with this stuff. I thought I had read that you didn’t even need to confirm your email to create the account, which seems like it would make the “somebody else made this” excuse at least plausible.

    Not that it isn’t possible, but isn’t the big problem with these “someone set up an account in my name to discredit me” stories that such a scam would require you to know the database was gonna get hacked and exposed beforehand?

      Maybe, sure. What’s weird, though, is that if they don’t send any e-mail to confirm your ID, what DO they send? I mean, it’s a cheating site, so they presumably act with some level of discretion, in case you were dumb enough to use a joint/work/shared e-mail. Do they really send “hey, here’s some married trim in your area to stuff your dirty dick into” updates right to your inbox?

    Here’s the thing for me about people who use Ashley Madison. It’s stupid. I probably have an Ashley Madison account, since I probably logged on at some point to see what the fuss was about. However, it must be really expensive. The Duggar guy spent $800 dollars? In order to send messages to sex workers and spam bots? Spam bots will talk to you for free, and sex workers aren’t exactly hard to find. If you are actually trying to have an affair, and you’re so uninteresting that the only medium to do so is Ashley Madison, it makes you seem pathetic, bad with money and an irrational actor. Those are strikes against your personality much greater than simply logging on to a sex website once in a while.

      The people that would vote for him don’t give a shit about this. The only people that this makes less likely that they would vote for him, weren’t going to vote for him in the first place, besides, from, the comments it sounds like this son is the “the one” of the family which everyone has, which would make people feel more connected to Biden.

    Given the data that leaked, wouldn’t a list of transactions also be available? What incriminated Josh Duggar wasn’t just the account, it was the clear history of participation. If Hunter Biden’s account has activity on it, then it’s probably his account. If it’s nothing but a username, their explanation seems more plausible.
