      When kids started giving blow and hand jobs in late elementary/early middle school. I have teacher friends at both levels who’ve had multiple incidents like this— in their schools, in classrooms, bathrooms, gym, etc— in the past few years. When you are at 4th base by age 13-15, where do you go from there?

    You are a writer for a very liberal feminist blog. These students (male and female) may not be feeling the perceived flames as intensely. And thank God. Frankly, I prefer this to the fearmongering that has encompassed many students.

    My dad, he is a good Christian man, I am a good Christian man, but we just do this for fun.

    I’ve always hated this line of reasoning — I’m a good person, I swear, ignore all my actions and just take my word for it, I’m a good person. That’s really not the way that works.

    On the one side, I do want to say it’s just some harmless fun. But American society is a misogynistic rape culture that proliferates on college campuses. So this really isn’t a very funny stunt. And they should be reprimanded somehow, even if with just a stern talking to, likewise to any of the female houses/sororities who do this sort of thing.

      Exactly . . . you don’t get to justify bad behavior by insisting you’re a good person. If you are behaving badly, and you KNOW it’s bad behavior . . . then you don’t get to say “it’s okay, I’m a good person.” We get to define if you are a “good person” by how you behave.
