    Great starvation in Russia is traditionally caused by politicians rather than nature. Usually from power seizures, ideological hardheadedness, and basic infrastructure failure.

    This move by Putinnis right in keeping with traditional Russian leaders’ disregard for the food needs of their public.

    The oddest thing is that Herbert Hoover of all people(!) was in charge of a massive US food aid project from +/-1923-1925 that saved millions of Russians from starvation. (Then caused millions of Americans starvation 6-8 years later)

      Anything else the rich like and can use (and the poor can’t afford) while ranting against the evils of the west and completely missing the irony.

    Yeah I’m sure Putin gives exactly zero shits about the poors.

    If the West really wants to punish Russia with sanctions, they should ban any Russian citizen from owning Real Estate in London or New York and make the ones that do own property forced to sell within 30 days.

    Do this and the troops will be out of Ukraine in 48 hours (or Putin will find a bullet in his head from one of the rich Oligarchs who doesn’t want to lose their 5o million Manhattan penthouse).
