    Well, it’s a slow day at work, so ...

    1. Lenny plays various guitars, but this appears to be a Gibson Les Paul.
    2. Existing dimensioned drawings of a Les Paul (available online) tell us that the length of the headstock from the nut to the scrolling is 17.120 cm.
    3. Since this portion of the guitar is clearly visible, we can compare it to the other “area” that is clearly visible, and get a good estimate of what we’re looking at.
    4. If we insert the photo above and the dimensioned guitar drawing into 2D drafting software such as AutoCAD, we can scale both images to compare the headstock and the other, um, “area.”
    5. Based on a top-side dimension from what appears to be some kind of ring to what seems to be, well, the sort of spot where you would end your measurement, we can estimate 10.25 cm.
    6. Divide by 2.54 and we have a rough guess of 4.035”, which doesn’t account for any kind of perspective from the angle of the photo.
