Goldens are the best dog sry. My neighbor has a giant mass of a golden retriever who comes to our deck-ish (not really a deck so much as a slab to hang out on but w/e) door any time he’s in the area and sits outside until someone notices him. His owner is always in the area and knows we find this hilarious so she lets him do his thing, and I swear it’s the one thing I am going to miss when we move in two weeks.

(on the bright side, we hilariously convinced this woman to look at the same area we’re moving to and she’s found a place there, too. Here’s to many more moments of finding this crazy dog on our porch. /cool story bro)

Picture for added effect of hilarity:

This is what it’s like being at my girlfriend’s house. She has three goldens but it feels like a hundred. Why do they want to go to the bathroom with you? That’s weird, dogs are weird.

      Fuck you! You’re weird!

(If that seemed overly hostile, it’s because I’m actually dog with a pretty big chip on his shoulder.)

I hope you like her. Those dogs are a trap. I once put off ending a relationship for 2 extra months because I couldn’t bear to leave her dog. I still miss her so much (the dog, I mean).

I think this is Hudson’s way of saying, “I want you guys to remember me this way” before they make the big changeover.

I’ve never owned more than two dogs at a time, and I’ve never had two dogs of the same breed, but for anyone that has owned this many, are you really able to tell them apart? I would imagine that they have varying frame sizes and certainly different personalities, but it looks like there’s at least 12 dogs here. How...do you keep track of so many pups? x_X

Much like a gay bar in the ‘80s, I really think you’d need a set of color-coded bandanas.

I had a friend with a LOT of golden retrievers (a legitimate countryside breeder, the rare ideal). You could always tell the dogs apart. Slight variations in coat length, color, and overall personality helped. Probably like the moms of multiples learn to tell them apart...

I have twin boys so I wanted a good family pet. We have two Golden Retrievers now. Our female is 16 months old and our male is 5 months old. Absolutely the best dogs ever.

My husband is a cat person and didn’t really like dogs. But even he admits our two Goldens are the sweetest dogs ever. He enjoys taking them on hikes since we live on a nature trail.

Is your male a Tasmanian Devil compared to the female (or was I just lucky)?

Yes. But, I attribute some of this to the fact that my female came from a reputable breeder and was bred for personality, among other traits. Our male puppy was rescued from a back yard breeder who had bred his female Golden Retriever 10 times. So, he wasn’t breeding for any traits.

Our male is very sweet but he’s much more active than our female. My husband takes him on a one-mile hike every day and that amount of exercise results in a much calmer dog.

I swam like this with my Labrador/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. It was great until she caught up with me and raked her claws down my back under the water. Then it felt like a shark attack.

This is Buddy on his first Birthday July 18th; his mother is a Golden Retriever and his Pops is a Yellow Labrador Retriever. He already knows a lot of tricks but his best one right now is when you ask him to CRRAAWWLL he starts crawling along the floor with a horrible snarl on his face. Of course, true to his namesake he IS a buddy to all who say hello. Likes everyone, eats everything—fits into our family very well!
