    Although many people love to laugh at the clown car of GOP candidates, the Democrats appear to be in pretty bad shape right now. Clinton may undergo this criminal investigation (which would likely derail her campaign), O’Malley is connected to the police corruption in Baltimore, Chafee and Webb are non-entities, and many progressives are now slamming Sanders as a Sixties fossil who has zero connection to most non-white voters. I wouldn’t be surprised if the DNC will soon push Biden into the race.

    Some truths about this election:

    1. Hillary is the liberal illuminati candidate, Jeb Bush is the conservative illuminati candidate. We all know this. Everyone knows this.

    2. The GOP field is full of idiot ass-clowns who have no shot of actually being elected, and Jeb likes this b/c it makes him seem less insane to the electorate.

    3. Hillary is ***fucking awful*** compared to other liberals...another thing we all secretly know. She’s better than every Republican, but she is *not* a progressive.

    4. The all need to go away forever.

    Okay, I read your post. I read the linked NYT article. I muddled through the thirteen pages of interdepartmental gobble-robble on this far too lovely midsummer’s day. My impression is that it is the State Department group responsible for the release of HC’s emails this past month who are the people potentially in trouble, not HC herself. The thirteen pages appear to confirm that if/when HC passed along any classified info through her emails, that that info was not at that time marked as classified — so she’s in the clear. My reading of this is that it’s the release process itself (apparently under Patrick Kennedy?) where the trouble lay.

    ...and yet, your headline and photograph and even, to a minor extent, the quoted response from the Benghazi Committee subtlely imply that HC will be the subject of this criminal inquiry. Even the words “criminal inquiry” seem to be pushed here with a certain duh-duh-duuuuhhhhhh! breathlessness, when this really seems more like a procedural snafu that happens to be bound up in intel classification/FOIA laws. It’s highly unlikely that anyone is going to go to jail here — least of all HC.

    Or am I wrong, Sam. If I've misunderstood your post, could you please explain where — I'm not being sarcastic or smug, BTW — it's entirely possible that I've misunderstood this and I would really like to know if you feel that I have.

      She was right to some degree. He needed to mention it. Like Bernie, I think that class is a more fundamental difference than race, or at least more central to the issues we face today, but the blacklivesmatter folks were right - the house is burning down, don’t tell the homeowners you’re going to advocate for more fire trucks. Help them put out the fire. It’s a crisis and should be treated as such. And I think Bernie can grow and change to earn the vote of every American without losing his central focus. When push comes to shove, people will come out for Bernie.

      The media is bored because the presidential election (barring some catastrophe) was basically decided a long time ago. Hillary will win if she’s the nominee. They’re trying to create some interest and get clicks. That’s why they’re misrepresenting stories like this one and spending so much time with Donald Trump.

      Not to mention the fact that it’s an open secret that many ‘journalists’ have a decided anti-Clinton bias.
