Why are the people most determined to reproduce always the last people who should be reproducing?

See we are always taught evolution wrong, its not survival of the best, its survival of the most likely to reproduce. So even if you are a gibbering retard incapable of an ounce of fucking intelligence, as long as your sperm can find an ovum and your children don’t get eaten by you accidentally confusing them for a liberal you’ll go on to ruin our species.

And always so ABLE to reproduce. Why can’t we target infertility? I want that as my superpower. Fuck flying and mind-reading and shooting lasers out of my eyes.

How old are his daughters, btw? Just wondering which one will be blessing him with a grandchild while still in high school first.

Brace yourself, this story gets even more disgusting. Two of his daughters were 18 and 19 years old when he started this in 2013. That adds an entirely new layer of awfulness to this.

Well they were 13, 18 and 19 when this whole thing started a year ago, so I’m pretty sure two of the three are already out of high school, and one’s out of her teen years entirely.

Perhaps these things are too complex for me but if an insurance company wants to pay for contraceptives, what right does Right-Wing Stereotype No. 1001 here have to tell them that they can’t? Or is he suing because the government is forcing the insurance company to cover contraceptives and he’s suing on behalf of the insurance company? And if so, how does he have standing to do so?

It’s bullshit. If Jehovah’s Witnesses can’t lobby for health insurance to not cover blood transfusions because that’s an infringement of their religious freedom, this dude can’t argue that coverage of BC infringes on his religious freedom. It’s also against a lot of religions to blaspheme, does that mean the freedom of speech infringes on their religious freedoms? No fucking way.

All I hear is an angry man yelling a whole lot because the buffet line has brussel sprouts and he HATE brussel sprouts and how dare they offer brussel sprouts when he hates them so much that he doesn’t want his adult daughters to go anywhere near those brussel sprouts.

I’d like to take this opportunity to remind the wonderful Jezebel readers that two of Rep. Paul Weiland’s daughters were 18 and 19 years old when he first started this in 2013. This isn’t about religious freedom whatsoever. If it was, he would let them practice theirs as they saw fit.

Just now? Even if they were minors, he was still suing to block access for them in the future to prevent them from having choices.

From here it is just the TINIEST leap to a mentality that we shouldn't allow a Mosque in town because my impression so children might choose to go in and violate my religious beliefs.

That’s the goal. They want only white, fundamentalist Christians, and Ted Cruz will be the king of this Christian nation. Well, that’s what Teddy’s dad says God wants.

You either pay into a system that provides all recipients with basic, fundamental care even if a man in a funny hat doesn't like it, or you go without insurance. Period. Those are the options, dickbag. And your daughters are going to use contraception anyway. Almost all Catholic women do in their lifetimes. You fucking lose anyway. Game over.

Hey, leave Missouri out of it! Enlightened, independent woman here, with full health care coverage living a life of her choosing in St. Louis.

Kansas City, St. Louis, and Columbia are pretty cool places. Kindly don’t mix them up with the likes of conservative, super religious rural Missouri.

Guys. We need to start a health insurance company for these loonies and take all their money and then laugh at them. We’ll secretly donate it all to Planned Parenthood and Wendy Davis.

Ah i had the same thoughts until i realized that after being charged for their customized plans, because that is what they are, they would start crying and whining about being “gouged”. Then they will want regulation of this free market and demand their lawmakers stop allowing them to be price discriminated against or whatever word jumble they come up with. This looks like it’s gonna be the summer of the “attack on reproduction”.

If he was so confident in his beliefs, and his ability to impart them to his children, he wouldn’t be doing this, because his daughters would have zero interest in the pill, as it would conflict with their own beliefs and choices.

Seems like a fair rule, you have 15-20 years to indoctrinate your children. If you fail to make it stick by then, the rest of the world gets a chance.

“Even if I didn’t have daughters, it would be offensive against my religion,” Wieland said of the lawsuit. “Everything that I’ve taught you about our faith should be ignored because the government knows better than your dad.”

There is so much to unpack here.

Dear sir, I do not give a flying rat’s ass about your religious beliefs. None. I don’t care what “brand” you are, still don’t care. If you have imparted your beliefs sufficiently to your offspring, they will follow them. For instance, you may not drink, but you have liquor stores open to the public in your town. You do not go in. Your daughters do not go in. Simple.

Now if your daughters determine that your beliefs are just a lot of horseshit and wild honey, well, you can’t exactly blame the insurance companies, now can you???
