    Why are pitbulls and chihuahuas so sought after by thieves? I thought they were really common - those are the breeds that pop up most frequently on the various shelter instagrams I follow.

      They may want intact animals, and shelter animals are always fixed. My neighbors finally got their pit fixed partly out of fear he would be stolen.

    This kind of thing happened to my mom when she was young. Some guy tried to steal their dog once, but my grandfather was able to stop him. But he came back another time, took the dog, and they never found her. I think my mom was like 10 or 11 at the time, but she still gets kind of upset when she tells the story.

    Fuck dog stealers.

      I had a break-in 5 years ago and my dog went missing. I went nuts looking for her but never found her and I’m still not over that shit and I don’t think I ever will be. I was more upset about my dog than the shit that was stolen and the mess those dirt bags made of my place. I had her for 10 years and she was the first dog I ever had as a grown-up. I really hate people.

    Some assholes tried to steal this guy out of my yard - I heard him crying and came running and they took off. The police came *very* quickly after my husband convinced me to call.

      My little dog would probably go willingly with them. That ungrateful assholes follows random people and tries to jump into strangers cars. And I love on her and give her attention whenever she demands it.

      My other dog would want no part of it because he is a velcro dog and would be with me 24/7 if he could. If I leave the room for what he feels like is too long (a minute or so) he comes looking for me.
