Hey, that’s what Shiites apparently deserve for having a differing opinion over who should have succeeded in the caliphate 1200 years ago. Those evil bastards.

Sectarian violence would be easier for me to understand if its root causes weren’t so pathetically pedestrian. Tribalism and hatred are the twin irrational refuges of the ignorant.

Wait. It’s three. You forgot cheesefries. Cheesefries are the last refuge of the ignorant.

Cheesefries aren’t a refuge, cheesefries are a cunning trap. Thought you were safe, did you? A bit of atherosclerosis will stroke you right out of your lowbrow complacency.

ISS bombed Shias celebrating Ramadan, something they celebrate as well, no? Makes sense.

I don’t have anything more enlightening to post than that, just wanted to see if I still could.

I’m thinking it has less to do with any Ramadan-related celebration rather than a target of opportunity. The celebration was guaranteed to bring a large group of Shia close together. If there was inter-Christian warfare between Catholics and Baptists for example, the Baptists would bomb midnight mass at the Catholic church not because it has anything to do Christmas, but because the holiday would guarantee a large concentration of the Catholics.

I was actually kind of thinking that it would be like the Catholics staging an Inquisition round-up or a Huguenot hunt on a religious holiday. Mostly because Shias make up a comparative minority to the Sunnis.

But mostly, I think this just means ISIS wants none friends.

They are attempting to attain Nuclear Weapons.

      They fund the Houthis

      They fund Hizbullah

      They stone people.

Just because some Shiites are victims, does not men that others are not aggressors.

I am generally an apologist for the Arab region because I was deployed to Iraq a few times and knew and had friendships with many locals and knew them to be decent people, but it is getting hard to find anything redeemable about the region or its people in general anymore.

I would just keep in mind that ISIS is killing a lot of Arabs and don’t represent the majority of them.

I understand that, but it is becoming a situation where it is basically ‘cut off the limb because the wound is festering to the point of killing the body’. The rest of the limb is fine, but it isn’t doing anything to stop the infection.

included people suspected of running militant websites used to recruit potential ISIS fighters.
