Nothing like uneducated liberals who don’t know how a construction operation runs. Of course Trump interviews and hires 100% of the roofers...

What a boring argument this is. They wouldn’t be here illegally if the border was secured...

I don’t think anyone is surprised Trump is a hypocritical idiot. The worrying part is how so many people in this country still agree with him.

“Pass the Buck” is exactly the quality we are looking for in a president, isn’t it? All this talk from Trump’s lawyer and his minion here in the comments that try to disclaim any responsibility for the immigration status of the construction workers by referring to the “lead contractor” ignores one simple fact: Trump has a contract with the lead contractor and if it was important to Trump to ensure that the construction project employed only those in this country legally, then he could have specified that in the contract. Of course, it would have probably meant that construction costs would go up, which is why Trump doesn’t insist on such a provision (also, he doesn’t really care; it is just kabuki). But as the owner of the land, Trump was holding all the cards and this issue just wasn’t that important to him until he decided to pretend to run for president.

Typical conservative. Personal responsibility is vitally important. Except for when it comes to them and their friends. I don’t think they even possess the self awareness to understand that it's hypocritical to demand perfect morality and responsibility from others while excusing their own mistakes as someone else's fault.

This is an intelligent response, but to me it seems really bizarre for any of us to respond so thoughtfully to a clown. Does even mockery legitimize him? I’m not sure. I do think that if I were editor, I’d want to post at least one Sanders story for every other Trump story, even though he is the perfect message for this medium.

Fear has nothing to do with it. The man is a racist moron who tans too much, can’t accept he is losing his hair, and has an ego the size of a small planet. We make fun of him because it is easy and fun.

ETA: What is there to be afraid of? He has no chance of winning. Thanks to changing demographics it is impossible to win a general election without some of the minority vote, and he has been working diligently to alienate every minority.

Okay folks - some people (mostly his own supporters) -clearly- have no idea what Trump is up to...well here’s the low down just so everyone is enlightened...

    ***

Trump has no interest, whatsoever, in becoming President. He never has, he never will. Why? Becoming nominee and/or President (i.e., winning) requires certain detailed financial disclosures that Trump absolutely, positively, will not make nor wants to make. Ergo, he knows full well that he will, under no circumstance ever, become either the nominee or President.

    So why is he “running”?

    1. huge publicity ploy/act (which is succeeding wonderfully) which is totally free to him (although he said he was self-financing his entire campaign, this is patently false as proved by the huge red DONATE button on his website which folks are donating to; he collects said donations 100% tax free, pays for his ‘campaign’, and pockets the rest).

    2. ego

The only question is which is the predominant reason, likely it fluctuates day to day.

So mark my words, as soon as any financial disclosures might become necessary, he will make a last ‘heated request’ for donations, then promptly close up shot, pull of of the ‘race’, pay his bills, pocket the rest, and have a huge new publicity campaign taken care of.

There you have it. Watch and see. Remember this post when that time comes.

I thought the publicity ploy aspect was backfiring - he’s lost money on account of airing his opinions during the “campaign”

Putting aside all the other nonsense that emanates from Trump’s mouth, how is a wall actually going to keep people out? Maybe if we built something like the Great Wall of China out of stone and dug the foundation down to the bedrock, but would a wall that Trump would actually build (which would likely be built by the very Mexicans he’d like to keep out, whichever side of the border it happened to be on), actually be able to “secure our border”, or would the wall be riddled with holes and push more cross-border activity underground to the network of tunnels that already exists?

I believe he does imagine it to be similar to the wall in China, and he’s stated he will “make Mexico pay for it”....which I assume means he thinks he will “make” them build it too.

I don’t know how you build something like the Great Wall of China in this day and age, when you actually have to purchase materials on the open market, and pay the people who build it a fair wage while taking measures to ensure their safety (unlike the estimated 1,000,000 workers that died building the Great Wall of China). I’d also assume that Trump wouldn’t let Mexico build it (he’d just make them pay for it—he surely has a plan but isn’t going to give away the details), since why would they properly build a wall to keep the very people in their country that he claims they’re trying to send here... you know, the people that “do the raping”...

Serious question: does he wear ski goggles or something when he gets his hideous spray tan? Cause for the life of me I can't think of any other reason he'd have that pale shape around his eyes while the rest of him looks like a carrot bukkake'd all over his face.
