      Nope... she’s holding her cards close to the vest. She changed reddit to a past employer on FB and that’s the only acknowledgement thus far. She is one of the absolute sweetest, smartest people I’ve ever met; definitely reddit’s loss. And mine, because I’ve totally been living vicariously through the celebrity selfies I’ve grown accustomed to seeing on my feed.

      Victoria finds me friend worthy; isn’t that enough to get me outta the greys?

    I go to one reddit consistently, r/DestinyTheGame (don’t judge me), and, frankly, it’s too much reddit for me. Reddit is the worst. It’s like the rest of the internet’s comments sections distilled into and essence of pure entitled rage, perversion and lack of human decency. And that’s just the Destiny reddit!

    Saw this on Tumblr tonight, and it’s almost weirder than the reddit thing, although I can’t 100% vouch for its accuracy. But there is verbiage on neopets.com saying that they were moving servers or something this week and it accidentally turned off all their moderation software. So, it looks like something happened over there. I don’t want to post the screen grabs of the community board posts, but they’re pretty awful for a place called neopets:

    NEOPETS IS NOW THE ESSENCE OF CHAOS.

    This is fucking amazing, guys. I’ve never even been into Neopets and this is magical for me. Basically, Neopets was sold to Jumpstart (an “edutainment” company). That’s all well and good, except for the fact that Jumpstart fired every single one of the admins and moderators (for many of whom it was a paying job, btw) without any prior warning; they thought that their word filter could take care of everything.

    That wasn’t the case.

    Neopets now consists of nothing but shitposting. And this isn’t a 4chan raid; these are longtime members who are sick and tired of the way they’ve been treated over the years and angry about what happened to their staff.People who have been members since fucking 2004 are now perfectly happy with throwing their accounts away if it means they can shitpost and run rampant for a while. I’ve never seen anything like this before. Neopets is going out not with a whimper but with a bang. The Neopocalypse has begun.

      Jackson seemed to be providing arbitrary answers to questions that had never been asked, regardless of what he was responding to. When asked “What are some things that the average African-American can do to help reduce racial tensions in his area?” Jackson wrote three, non-sensical paragraphs that

      Do people not know that this is how Jesse is? He talks like that too. It’s hilarious. If you can make out what he’s saying. Or even if you can’t. There’s even a weekly radio show called ‘What the Hell Did Jesse Jackson Say’ where they play clips and see if anyone can figure out what the hell he’s saying to win prizes.

      So far cause of the firing has anyone considered the simplest explanation - that CEO Ellen Pao simply felt threatened by Victoria Taylor’s popularity inside and outside the company?

      That seems ubsurd but office politics often are. It also seems sexists...but the phrase I have heard often is “woman make for the worst bosses”. And this phrase seems to almost come universally from other woman. (I will let the ladies attack the statements validity as I personally have not had any problems with female bosses).

      My main point is people are assuming there must be a “logical” explanation and I am thinking there isn’t. So what if Pao, who lets be honest as a CEO is really as easily replaceable as a sock with a hole in it despite what CEOs themselves may think, decided that Taylor (who clearly isn’t as easily replaceable) was a danger to her position (even if imagined, its real to the CEO so by default it becomes “true”) and looked for the first chance to toss her out.
