    Business lawyer types: What are the chances that this contract really did have no “out” in the form of a morals clause or something similar?

    My understanding is that they were essentially a required part of any kind of deal like this — especially when dealing with a known idiot like Trump. But he has been very, very insistent that they have no contractual leg to stand on with this move. That seems ... unlikely to me.

      It would be nice to have a 100% guarantee that the Democrat would win! But as stupid as Republican primary voters are, I don’t think they’re that stupid. Not to mention that his candidacy has so little support that he had to pay actors to attend his announcement that he was throwing his hat in the ring.

      As a Mexican (who lives in the US on and off for school) I’m really happy that all these networks and people are taking stand and being supportive. Mexican people, and honestly all Latinos (since he probably lumped us all up in the same pile), really need people to start respecting them in this country, especially the undocumented workers. I see them from a very different and privileged position where I am, and my heart breaks to see how they are treated like they are invisible. Like they are nothing. Not even a thank you or hello. They’re not here to get rich. They are here to survive and damn it if they don’t break their backs every single day.

      No matter where I go, Mexicans always have this radar and we spot each other and tell our stories. Obviously I’m a spoiled brat. I know nothing about true suffering. When I hear their stories, and how they haven’t seen their families in decades, I feel like crying. I’m happy that times are changing. We are not a joke, undocumented workers are not a joke, and if you truly get to befriend a Mexican, you will have true, loyal friendship like you have never seen. So please, try to be nice to undocumented workers. Their lives are hard and they are GOOD people.

        Well-said. Sometimes I go to events or to my girlfriend’s extended family’s estate, and see Mexican and Latino workers doing all the labor behind the scenes, and every time I do I think of my mom, who has always worked hard like that. Then I think of myself, and how thin of a line separates me from those hard-working people doing manual labor for little money. It’s a surreal thinking exercise, to be sure. No one ever picks me out as Mexican based on looks alone, though, so I always surprise people when I strike up a conversation in Spanish.
