Im not usually a proponent for war. But at what point does the civilized world step in and say enough is enough? Clearly this is not a situation that can be handled by a “summit” of world leaders and handshake deals.

Well, that seems like the only approach, until you think about how the “civilized world” (and just a reminder, the middle east is the cradle of civilization—it’s ISIS, not the people and cultures of the greater middle east, that are doing evil here) went into situations before where there seemed to be a compelling moral justification for interfering ... and that’s exactly how we ended up with a power vacuum that enabled ISIS to become what it is. Going to war is not the only way to deal with this, and it doesn’t actually address any of the root causes that allow this shit to happen in the first place. Things are often presented as “we can go to war, or we can sit passively and do nothing while people are murdered,” and that’s a false choice.

You mistake me friend- I wasn’t calling the regions in which this is occuring uncivilized, just the religious nutbags perpetrating these heinous crimes.

I’m not saying I have the answers here- but hopefully there are much smarter people then me that are busy trying to find solutions, because these people won’t stop of their own accord.

The ISIS hydra has simply gotten too big by now. There’s no way to to stop it by simply removing key figures and leaders. It is self sustaining and more and more people continue to join this group and perpetuate its inhumanity. We need to learn new ways to combat this kind of viral evil. You can shoot a soldier, you can tear down a flag, you can destroy a building, but at the end of the day you simply can’t kill an idea. Unfortunately, I’m simply too dumb to know what the answer is.

prolly would help if saudi arabia stopped giving them money and supplied some of that 3rd-most-well-funded military

Yeah, what is the answer? Unfortunately, when I think about it the only thing I can think of is to just kill them all. But that makes me sound like Hitler so let’s pretend I didn’t say that.

Seems like a reasonable group. I’m glad we’re taking a passive approach.

You know who does target men and women equally by the tens of thousands? The Assad regime.
