Let’s go back to 2003. Remember one of the most pervasive arguments against the war: that Saddam Hussein was ruthless but effective in quelling a perhaps even more ruthless element within his own country? And that a man who takes such extreme measures against his own citizens rarely does so because he wants to, but rather because he needs to?

    This is that element.

Great point. But anyone who still believes we had any sort of good intentions going in there is a fool who doesn’t deserve attention.

Let us go back to 23 June 2015. Er, now.

Can't fucking change the past, and talking about ol' Sadd-am Hu-sany and things that were and things that could have been won't change fucking shit. We have this new problem we created NOW, so we need to do something about it.

No less gruesome than the others, but I’m getting a sense of desperation here too.
Like they’re having to work harder to keep the shock value up.

There seems to be a lot of commentary about them being ‘internet savvy’ and having ‘excellent social media skills’, where really they’re just evil cunts that run a kinda-country.

I’ve seem that this morning, on 4Chan. Even there, the most prevalent comment is that those ISIS videos seems to be fake. I mean, fake in the sense that the executions are staged, not real, for propaganda purposes. The main line of argument is that they seem to be more and more “creative”, too well produced and expensive in a counterproductive way, looking fore the snuff-porn angle, the shock-value, way beyond to the point it could be “necessary”. Of course, that’s all speculative, but I think the same.

Huh? So you think they aren’t actually killing these people?

“They’re making it up” was my crypto-fascist father’s response to the reports of Chilean torture victims during Operation Condor.

Editing to add a little explanation: People would rather believe this stuff didn’t happen than imagine anyone is really this awful. It’s less horrifying to believe it’s fake, especially when you partly sympathize with the aggressors, as my father did. (“Communists lie.”)

Further clarification: I’m not accusing you of ISIS sympathies, just explaining why I threw in the “crypto-fascist” description of my father. I’d delete out that whole bit if I hadn’t seen some people had already read this.

Out of all of them.... the exploding head rope if I had to choose my way to go.

Burning to death and drowning are too damn slow for me.

I watched, and you are right, the exploding head rope is the way to go. It was near instant.

Did not watch and won’t. The description was gruesome enough for me.

I would vote for Donald Trump to be the leader of Iraq but not for this country. Hell, let him spend his and his croney’s billions of dollars fighting ISIS. I’m sure there are plenty of Westerners who would be willing to join their army for the right price.

Humans have been pretty creative about ways to kill each other for the last couple thousand years or so.

WTF is our government doing sitting around and doing nothing???? This is just as bad as the Nazis in the 30s. How long until the world wakes up? The above pictures made me sick. I’m in awe that we can allow this to continue.

This is disgusting, but let's not get crazy. The Nazis killed at least 10 million people, maybe 20.

Now you sound like Americans in 1930 who were just as anti-jewish as much of the world. Lets look at history for a second: Only a small number of Jews were killed starting in March 1933, by 1938 about 2,000. Come June 1941 the Nazis started systematic killings. ISIS could easily follow the same path, left untouched 8 years.
