I’ve heard so many dudes say things like this to women. It’s so weird, entitled and creepy. You can’t help but detect a note of violence in it.

It’s fucking constant. This guy will be made out to be some lone weirdo while women know how common these sentiments are, even when they’re phrased with more subtlety.

I know you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but I'm a-gonna go out on a limb here and say this guy's issue with women not talking to him was that he had a giant, flashing neon sign over his head that said "dangerous creep".

No, I'm pretty sure the girls were racist against white guys. It's the only logical explanation.

What’s the over-under on how many posters fail to read the OP closely enough and make comments about this story that assume the guy was white?

If the guy was white, there would be around 80 posts decrying white privilege and how white males are the only ones who can’t handle their fee fees getting hurt. Since he is black, race won’t matter.

Mr. Shaw’s friends and relatives became increasingly concerned [about] his infatuation with Asian women.

Sounds like I should have been more concerned about every white guy from the suburbs in college.

Did you go to college in California? Or MIT? I’m trying to think of where else there would be a high enough concentration of Asian American women such that every white guy on campus is infatuated with them.

Men who do not understand why women approached in public are sometimes anxious or weary about talking to you: it’s because we don’t know which among you are this guy.

True story- I was once on the G train in NYC and this young black guy approached the Asian girl next to me and said “ I really like Asian girls ..... Why won’t you talk to me “ she was trying to ignore his dumb ass and he couldn't see it.

“ I really like Asian girls ..... Why won’t you talk to me “

This is so common and so annoying of a statement, but it also perfectly encapsulates the problem: the woman’s thoughts, preferences, or feelings don’t exist. It’s like walking into a bank and saying you like money. So? So fucking what? Guys: don’t lead with the fact that she meets your standards, since nobody cares about your standards. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR PENIS FEELINGS.

Cops say Tyrelle D. Shaw, reportedly an artist who made “bow ties out of unconventional materials,” struck at least four Asian women in the face with a hard object wrapped in a plastic bag when they failed to respond to his romantic overtures.

Ah, the third grade approach to courtship.

    Wow — from his blog:

In this chapter I’m going to introduce you to a new form of thinking that is effective and simple to use. Here’s a step by step instructions guideline that will help you break out of your way of thinking for a few weeks into thinking like a quote on quote goofball.

    1. Introduce yourself to Brain Enhancement Pills.

    2. Purchase a Molskine Book and a Molskine pen.

    3. Think BIG, Think Small, Think Bigger than BIG & Think Smaller than small.

    4. Fight with your brain. Take your anger out on knowledge.

    5. When you feel insecure think about inventing a cure.

    6. Turn your day into hours.

    7. Calculate how many days you have left on Earth. The average human is given 33,000 days of life. Subtract that from your age today by dividing 365. For example, if your 25 multiply that by 365 then subtract 33,000.

    8. Learn how to get yourself published.

    9. Create videos and audiobooks on what you think is useful.

    10. Learn from what groups of people didn’t do in the past. Use that to your advantage.

    11. Learn how to make explosives.

    12. Apply for a job with the U.S. Government The House of Representatives

    13. Actually be intelligent.

    14. Sacrifice Romance for Knowledge. Document how long that will be a priority.

    15. Use the word beep in replacement for curse words.

    16. Remove the word WHY from your vocabulary.

    **************

Note step 11. This could have been way worse.
