    Who are these women who side with men on every.single.damn.thing? Who are these women who refuse to believe that gender wage gap is real? Who are these women that think they “don’t need feminism” because women in other countries have it worse (so we should just stop trying, I guess)? I simply don’t understand this fucking mindset at all.

    Next month I will be attending a huge July 4th family get-together with my beau. It’ll be the first time I’m meeting any of his family members. One of his cousins is a chauvinistic asshole who is dating some little 19 year old that posts anti-feminist stuff from MRA groups on Facebook all the time. Is it wrong of me to admit that the only reason I’m going is to hopefully meet this idiot and drop some knowledge on her, or at the very least make her look like a complete dumbass? You know what, I don’t care if it’s wrong, I’m doing it anyway. Luckily my partner doesn’t really give a shit if his family likes me - he doesn’t even like most of them, LOL.

      Unless you want to burn some bridges with people you might be connecting yourself to long-term, I’d suggest the “kill them with kindness” approach, even if your S.O. doesn’t currently care about his family’s opinion of you. Victory can be so much sweeter that way.

    So, let me get this straight...GG, according to itself, are not the ones who are harassing Wu and Sarkeesian. BUT when Oliver brings those women on to talk about their harassment and no one says Gamgergate, it’s still about Gamergate according to Gamergate.

      The lack of awareness in GG is kind of a funny/sad thing. I visited the gaming forum for a relatively new game a couple weeks ago to see if there were any guides/tips for the game. Literally a third of the threads were complaints about the high number of female models in the game (in actuality 13 of 37) and how this was all a conspiracy by the “feminists” and “SJWs” to accomplish something nefarious. There was even a thread where people were complaining about how “SJWs” complain all the time. And no one recognized the irony.

      @AuraBogado just tweeted a series addressing this that I thought was v interesting.

      Basically she says the discussion of online harassment always centers around white women and never talks about how WOC but esp black women face a disproportionate amount of harassment, and how that speaks to the value we give WOC in this country, in direct response to JO’s piece.

      If I knew how to attach tweets here I would but I don’t so I apologize.

    I am so grateful I’ve never encountered one of these Gamergate people in the wild. I don’t think I would be able to contain my contempt, and I think I would resort to some hateful takedowns, just to make them cry. It would not bring out the best in me.
