  Yeah that might fly if she hadn’t sued Howard University for discrimination and claimed it was because she was white. This wasn’t when she was 5 years old, she was applying for a teaching assistant job at Howard. So her story changes to suit the questions being asked.

This piece was an eye opener. It’s basically a list of all the known times that she has claimed to be a victim because of whatever race she said she was at the time.

But Dolezal’s most disturbing claims weren’t about advantage. They were about victimization. Last year, in a newspaper column, she implied that she could speak for descendants of slaves. She excoriated “people who have not felt the lash of centuries of oppression beating down on their backs” for daring to “tell us to keep calm and carry on.” In an interview with the Easterner, she claimed that her parents had used a baboon whip, “similar to what was used as whips during slavery,” to “punish us by skin complexion.” (Her parents and her adopted blackbrother say this isn’t true.) In 2010, when HREI appointed a white man to be its executive director, Dolezal, who had wanted the job, told the press that she was resigning because she had been targeted for discrimination.

And that is just one paragraph. It goes on like that, with her claiming to be the victim of various trumped up charges and hate crimes that she herself most likely perpetrated.

  I believe all three of her interviews today are with NBC properties (Today Show, MSNBC, etc). That’s not by accident—NBC likely dropped a big chunk of change and won the bidding war for the rights to her interviews.
  
  There was a time when this wasn’t the case and wasn’t considered good journalistic practice/ethics. Sadly, those days are long gone. NBC paid her. No doubt.

So you can just say you identify as a certain race and the rest of the world is obligated to treat you as that race? Great, in that case i’m announcing that I identify myself as a Hobbit. I’m practically the right size for it, got enough hair on my feet and I have a love of drinking eating and the occasional smoke. I will expect to be feed elevensees and second breakfast. However I will not be giving gifts to anyone on my birthday, that’s one part of being a Hobbit I don’t consider part of my racial identity.
