One of the lessons I learned from working in higher ed, NEVER name anything after somebody who is still alive.

I’m sure they’ve been wrestling with this decision for awhile now

I was born in Wheaton, Illinois but my parents moved us away when I was four. Years later, I was almost hit by a car but stepped back at the last second. What I’m saying is there have been a lot of close calls in my life.

A spokesperson for Wheaton College denied reports that it had considered re-naming its center the Josh Duggar Center for Economics, Government, and Public Policy.

It really bugs me whenever “fundie crap” like this gets unearthed in Chicagoland.
Had NO CLUE the Duggar “GotHard” guy was based here.
            Ugh.

IT’S RIGHT BY MY OLD HOUSE WHAT THE HELL. I mean, in high school we used to call it “the cult” and thought it was funny to drive in and get kicked out, but I never knew it was THAT cult.

I also took my LSAT at Wheaton, in their, um, “science” center. It was a time. And I recently found out that the school I went to as a kid was based in, like, extreme Calvinism, which my parents didn’t know. What I’m saying is, I wish it surprised me.

I grew up on Glendale just down from “the cult.” We called them the institute people. They dress like what I assume Mormons dress like and used to walk for exercise on our street. That institute property is a beautiful place to go at night though with the lakes and trees.

The real question is will they rename “The Hastert Rule”, or simply redefine it to mean paying off a boy you once buggared?
