No it doesn’t. Shine the light on it, get it out of the darkness. These people want to force their ways on millions. That’s what is “enough.”

False. Every aspect of craziness that these people subscribe to needs to have the brightest, snarkiest light we have shone upon it. Daily. Forever. Until everyone who might hold these beliefs is shamed into submission or dead.

You should run an article where you make up random facts about genitals and then we have to guess whether or not this is something you made up or if it’s something the Duggars believe in.

Example: If your significant other is overcome from sexual lust by the sight of a J.C. Penny catalog, trying hurling a jar of change at them to knock the sin loose.

I was in ATI, and I remember this wisdom booklet quite vividly. It even goes on to say that an uncircumcised male is a danger to women as his foreskin gets dirty and gives her cancer... I shit thee not.

There’s your problem - the Protection Umbrella only covers 2 adults and the first 4 children. The other 15 are on their own.

“The miscarriage or premature birth of a child conceived in unfaithfulness can also be attributed to the stress of the cup of bitter water. This interpretation assumes that the accused WOMAN is pregnant when she is brought before the priest. If the child is the husband’s , she has no reason for guilt, and the child will live.”

Wait. Michelle Duggar had a miscarriage. Remember? It was baby Josie, and she got a funeral and everything. Therefore, we know that Michelle Duggar is a filthy adulteress.

(Don’t yell at me; I’m just trying to be consistent.)

My FIRST thought is: AM I PAYING FOR THIS SHIT?! Through tax loopholes and vouchers and such

My SECOND is: this should be criminal. If your religious freedom renders you unable to be in rational society, you should be banned from rational society.

I think the child tax credit ends after 3 or 4 kids now. Not sure.

I’m fairly certain that there isn’t a maximum to the child tax credit. It is limited by income however, and starts to be reduced at higher incomes.

Hey now, if I can call a bottle of wine a “portion of fruit” for dietary purposes, why can’t an anorexic call a quartered pea a four course meal? It’s hypocrisy, I tell you!

Thus, a father who lusts with his eyes will cause his children to have greater temptation in this area until he confesses his past sins and prays a daily hedge around his children.

The more I read, the more I feel like I need a key to decode what these people are talking about. AND I GREW UP SURROUNDED BY SOUTHERN BAPTISTS.

oh yeah, you ALWAYS pray a “hedge of protection” around your children. That way they would have bright countenances and obedient spirits!

Sure, we can read this stuff in disbelief and we can laugh at just how misinformed and out of touch with real science that adherents to these kinds of cults can be.

Unfortunately, it is this misinformation and guilt-laden sexual teachings and beliefs that fuel many political campaigns today and result in electees to local, state, and national office who believe what they’ve read and therefore are influencing and passing restrictive laws on womens’ reproductive rights.

Laws restricting womens’ rights go hand in hand with these beliefs of the inherent sinfulness of just being born a woman brings you. Josh Duggar has repented. Huckabee defends him. Huckabee pontificates on bad parents and yet no outcry on his bad parenting and his son who strung up a wounded dog and tortured it at scout camp. These people have learned very well how to quash all criticism and condemnation of what the men do in these religious cults in favor of raising to ridiculous standards the mere fact that the existence of women leads to the downfall of these men. And that because of that we should be sensitive to the sinning man while repressing womens’ rights and freedoms to somehow mitigate the mens’ “suffering.”

Four (at least) of the Duggar daughters have to live every day with the memory of their brother violating them. Will any one of them ever speak out? Not likely. And that is the sad, sad part. We will never hear of the abuse and pain they experienced because it is not in their Christian tradition to speak out anywhere. And to speak out against the “god” of their home would be close to damnation.

So when you read this tripe that the Gothard individual promotes, remember that this crap is fueling legislators and leaders as well. Just today Scott Walker actually SAID that he wasn't aware that ramming a ultrasound wand up into a pregnant woman's vagina against her will was such a big deal. This has been going on for so long. And the silence of women involved in these cults while their husbands go on to create horrible laws and legislation can be traced back to the things they were taught and the silence that is required in all things, especially sexual abuse. It's not that they too haven't suffered but that they were born to suffer and bound to not speak out. Until a Duggar daughter lets the truth fly without talking about Christian forgiveness ... remember, it's people like her brother who influence politics and are cheered on the political stump of campaigns for Huckabee. This crap teaching is encroaching on our rights.

It’s great to have people like these around, so Republicans and Democrats can come together to repudiate their ignorant hatefulness. Oh wait...
