I was trapped at Whole Foods when it first started this afternoon, then headed toward HEB for something else. I drove through that area, and JUST missed it by a few minutes. Yikes.

I grew up going to Acuña, this breaks my heart. I live in Austin and I know it will be hard for the people here to recover from this but in Acuña? No one is going to give a shit about them and start clothes and food drives. Just heartbreaking.

Well, you could. It’s your hometown. I live here in Austin and if I hear about it (read: if your vocal enough about it through social media/radio/tv) I will gladly contribute. I have a whole mess of clothes to give away.

Or don’t and just whine about how no one else will.

I’ve worked with some amazing people in Acuna and have very strong ties to them. I pray that the people of Acuna find the peace and assistance that they deserve.

It’s crazy, the news had a story on a HS Prom queen returning from the prom and she was swept away in her car and is missing.

The Tornado responsible for the damage in Mexico was then captured by a cartel, burned alive and hung from a highway overpass.

Meanwhile, Gov. Abbott is keeping the State Guard on that pesky Jade 15 bunch. Sure glad he will not be accepting any of Obama’s filthy aid $

A baby ripped from its mother’s arms by a tornado. Seems totally plausible.

Actually does and has happened before. A woman was going into her shelter and the wind knocked her down, swept her child up and deposited the infant in a tree branch 3 miles away. There's an AP photo of officers rescuing the child, covered in storm debris. Happened about 3-4 years ago in oklahoma.

I thought this was a really strange comment and thought it was sarcasm (meaning of course, babies get ripped out of arms all the time). I mean what would make you think a woman’s arms are stronger than tree trunks or cinder block walls or other fixtures that routinely get ripped out by the force of a tornado?

This thing roared through Houston around 6:38am Sunday. Hail, white-out conditions, the freight train sound and green lightning. And just like that, it was over.

Yeah, it’s been nuts here in Texas, just in the past hour or two, my phone’s gone off with a tornado alert and then a flash flood alert - and the bad part of today’s storm isn’t even here yet.

Those alerts are over played. I wish they’d only let us know when stuff is actually going to happen.
