God, that has to be the most awkward portrait smile I’ve ever seen. There is no warmth, no life in his eyes. Just a cold dead stare and a twitch of the lips.

how can Republicans deal with their lives and their choices for this next election? At least we Democrats have Bernie Sanders, but I don’t know if he can’t beat Hillary.

I think 2016 is lost for them already. Their bigger problem will be desperately backtracking to save face and be on the right side when all the gays can marry, just so they can keep their own jobs. Coming soon: tons of “Evolved positions”.

Don’t forget about Martin O’Malley. He has a better chance against Hillary than Bernie does, though I love Bernie dearly.

So you’re saying that black people and white people in Louisiana finally have something to agree about? Truly, this is momentous progress in Louisiana race relations.

So they hate brown people more than black people? If that's the zenith of improvement, I'm terrified of the nadir.

    Presidential Election Fun Fact:

The last candidate who was elected President without carrying his home state was Woodrow Wilson in 1916 (NJ). The last non-incumbent to win election without carrying his home state was James Polk in 1844 (TN).

So essentially Bobby Jindall has a very, very hard hill to climb.

Eh, because of the electoral college, he would still win his home state in a general election.

I worked as a reporter in Louisiana for a lot of his term (2007-2013). He’s actually very smart and acted like it at the beginning of his term. Always came armed with a lot of facts and figures and spouted it fast — you had to bring a recorder to his press conferences because he talked too quickly and recited too much information to take notes by hand. I assume someone must have coached him to goober it up in an attempt to cater to the Christian far right like he’s been doing recently because he’s really gone off the deep end.

Just goes to show you. Republicans can complain about Big Gubment all they want, but when you actually begin to dismantle and privatize popular public service programs as Jindal has done (gutting health care and higher ed, privatizing the charity hospital system and disabled services) people will realize what they took for granted and that things suck.

Sadly, most of the conservatives here in LA will not change their opinions or votes due to Jindal’s mismanagement. The GOP will continue to rule here for some time to come is the sad truth of this state. New Orleans will continue to be New Orleans, at least until gentrification is complete and then it will probably join the rest of the state.

Oh I know. My father in law HATES Jindal, so much so that he actually gleefully forwards every single article he can find about what an awful governor Jindal is to a small group of family and friends — I’m talking nearly daily emails. (I’ve joked with him that he should start a newsletter). But he balks at the idea of identifying as anything other than Republican. He’s told me before, after a few drinks, that he actually voted for Obama and probably leans conservative Democratic in his views, but it would make him a social and business pariah to identify as anything but Republican.

Running for President is fine but styling himself as “Robert of House Republican, King of the Jindals” is a bit much.

Clearly, this is because Christians are being persecuted in (Obama’s) America, and Obama isn’t Christian.

Not surprised, Bobby Jindal is the thirstiest of the 2016 candidates.
