Wait so he deliberately tore his own spinal cord in two, THEN intentionally hit his head hard enough to end his life?

Anyone else getting the sense the world would be better off if America’s cops had elected to write fiction novels instead?

Psst. Your spinal cord goes into your head. One-stop self-inflicted injury.

So, the video of this obviously injured guy getting into the van while pleading for help suggests he’s going to “bash his head into the wall”, intentionally, despite his medical distress, severing his spinal cord?

      That’s believable. Sure. Yup.

      ?!

An investigative reporter, Jayne Miller of W-BAL, exposed this leaked statement from BPD for what it is: self-serving and perjurious propaganda. The so-called witness they have alleging Gray was trying to injure himself was the fourth person picked up by the van and Gray was already unresponsive by the time he got on. He could not have heard Gray banging on walls and trying to injure himself because Gray was already passed out and unresponsive. And, the timeline established by the press and the police chief confirms that this so-called witness was in the van for 5 minutes, which means he was there about 30 minutes after Gray was in there. The detective who filed this affidavit for a search warrant has committed perjury or knowingly offered information he knew to be false, in a sworn document. I’m sure he’ll be given a promotion for lying. (Aside: does this not remind anyone of how the Baltimore DA and cops got Jay, the only witness against Adnan in Serial, a lawyer in order to secure his testimony even though it was riddled with inconsistencies?)

Also, had Freddie Gray, with his severed spinal cord, launched himself into the walls of the van with enough force to crush his larynx, there would have been other injuries to his body like bruises, skin abrasions, a broken bone, injuries to his face, etc. None of those injuries were found on his body. So, not only is it implausible to me that Gray was able to use his legs and arms, which were impaired due a spinal injury, with such force that he crushed his larynx, I also cannot take the testimony provided by this “witness” who clearly didn’t hear any banging on the wall because Gray was passed out to begin with. Oh, and this still doesn’t explain why he wasn’t brought to the hospital.

If anyone is interested in the debunking of this story, which happened almost immediately after the Washington Post irresponsibly released it without investigating its veracity. Jayne Miller took to the airwaves to expose this self-serving statement for what it was: the police drawing from the bottomless well of racism in America to smear the victim or give the white racists who’ve flocked to Gawker from Stormfront or MRA shit factories a “rational” reason to support this cold blooded killing and troll us.

heard Jayne miller on the tv talking about how the witness could've been hearing Freddy having seizures—I guess that happens sometimes when your spine gets severed. because you're slowly dying. so fucked up.

Also, the medical examiner said today they had not shared their report with police yet, so whoever made the accusation that he definitely suffered the catastrophic injury in the van wouldn’t have had anything to base it on. Just people leaking random facts to keep everyone confused.

What’s more: The WJLA report claims that the person driving the police van has yet to give an official statement to authorities, which certainly makes it seems like he or she is lawyering up or, at the very least, hiding something.

The police turned their completed investigation over to the prosecutor without getting a statement from the driver of the van? Why am I not surprised that this is the level of effort put into the investigation?

You’re not compelled by law to make a statement to investigators. This is part of the whole “right to remain silent”. Until you’re sworn into the court you’re not compelled to say anything by law. Which usually means you’re trying to protect yourself.

It’s a criminal investigation. He cannot be forced to make a statement that may incriminate him. In a normal internal investigation, once charges are ruled out, he is compelled to provide a statement under Garrity.

Yeah, because he wasn’t strapped in. You sit in the back of a van with your arms and legs cuffed and see what happens. Any reporters from the mainstream media want to try it for themselves.

Just like Ferguson, share just enough contradictory information to fuck things up, but not enough to actually get to the truth. Recovering from back surgery BS this morning, extra stop not mentioned this afternoon... Also are family member interviews credible now? Was the cause of death the severed spine or the fatal head injury? Did his severed spine leave him unable to brace himself in the van? This whole fucking thing is ridiculous.

Will they wait until thousands of angry citizens have gathered in the streets again before they tell them that the cops involved have all retired early and are now operating a bar in Key West?
