    Of course he didn’t work for Uber. Uber doesn’t employ drivers, it contracts them. It’s supposed to insulate them from having to be responsible for their drivers’ actions, and it would have worked if it weren’t for these meddling reporters and their stupid blog.

      “This man called an Uber, it’s not fair to say he got into one,”

      It is absolutely fair to say he got into one. That’s the whole point. If you call a car and Uber can’t guarantee the car you’re getting into is the one they sent, that’s their fault and they should absolutely be liable.

          Considering that he apparently offered a passenger hookers and drugs blind, my guess is that he was up to drugs and his plan was more drugs.

        Of course the driver works for uber. How would he have the information to pick up this person otherwise? I see people on the street all the time, waiting for some form of transportation. How do I know what transportation though?

        If this guy was just a robber, how would he know this guy was waiting for an uber, and when and where to pick him up. If he saw him on the sidewalk waiting for a ride, how did he know it wasn’t a taxi that he was awaiting? You’d have to be pretty amazing to be able to distinguish whether someone was waiting for a taxi or an uber just seeing them waiting on the sidewalk. It’s not easy to fake being an uber driver, and even less easy to identify specific uber using targets without having some sort of inside information.

        The only other option would be that this guy is working with an uber driver who gets the info, passes it to him, then claims his fare was not there when he went to pick them up. Even then though, they could easily trace it back to the person who said, oh my fare wasn’t there so I went on my way. Later they split the loot, and think they are free and clear.

        That's my theory anyway. Maybe I'm completely wrong and uber isn't a totally fucked up transportation service run by fucking morons.

              Uber is so sketchy. I wanted to drive for them thinking it was a good idea, boy was I wrong. Just an example when I asked about how I was covered under their supposed policy I was told weeks later by a paralegal he can’t answer hypothetical questions. Isn’t insurance pretty much a list which qualifies or doesn’t qualify coverage given hypothetical situations?
