Remember when Bobby Jindal was the new face of the modern Republican party for one brief moment?

    Those were fun times.

Then he gave the GOP rebuttal to the State of the Union. Kiss of death. Also, he’s just generally a nutbar.

Bobby Jindal Wants to Be President of Bigot Pizza Nation

At least he wants something he can actually attain, because that is the only Nation he will be president of, unless toothpetard’s loozannastan turns into a democracy in the near future.

As a Louisiana native, I posted a link to this article with a comment on what a colossal piece of shit “Bobby” Jindal is...even my conservative uncle, who probably thinks gays are everything wrong with our country, liked my status. In fact, I’ve never received so many likes on ANY of my political oriented posts. AND about half of them were from LA based conservatives. Fuck this guy. Seriously fuck him and his shitty pandering and bullshit “morals.”

We hate him so much here in New Orleans. He’s despised by so many state employees. If the people in your own state hate you what makes you think you’ll be president.

You should pose that question to Chris Christie.

Because right now he’s only interested in the Republican primary voters in the other 49 states. People who have no clue as to his actual record governing since this is all they're seeing of him. Telling them exactly what they want to hear, just as he did with Louisiana Republican primary voters not too long ago.

Meanwhile, LSU and other public institutions are facing funding cuts of over 80%.

Maybe if IBM calls this idiot’s bluff and pulls out the University can move into IBM’s fancy new facility.

Louisiana is ridiculous in terms of our budget (among other things). It is ensconced in state law that, essentially, the only two areas you can pull funding for in the event of a shortfall are education and healthcare. So if oil revenues aren’t high enough, you can seriously hurt a hospital or university to make up for it.

So, yeah, every university that is state-funded now gets to figure out how to absorb a major hit to their budgets. Programs get cut (my alma mater had to cut its computer science degree), and there’s even talk of a couple of campuses getting closed.

Meanwhile, though, Piyush Jindal jetsets around the country in the ridiculous hope of maybe doing well enough in the Republican primaries so he doesn’t look like a Rick Perry knockoff. All at the expense of Louisiana taxpayers. I haven’t seen numbers, but I wonder if the education shortfall (of, I think, $140 million) might be significantly lower if we weren’t paying for Jindal’s travel, security, and expenses...

I still can’t figure out how, if you’re offering a service for money, turning away any customer makes a goddamned lick of sense, unless that customer is actively undermining your business (i.e. being a blatant asshole to other customers, taking up an inordinate amount of time relative to the value they provide, ect... and only done in extreme circumstances). None of these Jeebus fearing businesses seem to be doing particularly well in the first place..... Memories Pizza was in piles of debt, and if that florist was one $1000 fine away from losing her business, well.... just sayin’. I worked for one of the most successful catering businesses in the Twin Cities, and I’ll tell you what they thought about gay marriage. Cha-ching! Did these wedding vendors not provide cakes to people who were Jewish, or Atheist, or on second marriages, or having sex before marriage, or hell, daring to wear a sleeveless bridal gown? Also, the GOP is all “free market,” and the market has decided it doesn’t want to do business with bigots. How is allowing certain people to discriminate a free market?

Exactly. I wish I had more than one star to give because you nailed it. If your business’s slogan is “I love jeebus more than profit” you’re screwed...

Beyond the discrimination part, let’s focus on your first statement. These people are literally idiots when it comes to running a business. I don’t know too many people who started businesses to “serve the community”, they started businesses because they believed they could make money doing so. If your sole purpose is to make money (I don’t know too many businesses that don’t want to do that), then turning away customers makes you an idiot, and a self-righteous one at that.

No, there’s a very strict vetting procedure to ensure candidates really do know nothing. It’s quite difficult to fake the level of cluelessness required.

Many people find it morally offensive and disgusting. Others feel it’s a product of how one was raised but if you ask me I still say being a Republican is a choice.
