How is this even legal, considering so many species, including elephants, are endangered? I would like to see big game hunters hunting other big game hunters. And succeeding until there’s only one left, who then gets promptly torn apart by a some nice lions. Sorry, my compassion goes on the fritz when I read this shit.

  From what I understand, male elephants that can’t reproduce are extremely territorial and hinder other male elephants from getting it in. The goal of big game hunting is to make sure that all the elephants that CAN reproduce succeed in making babies, by taking out the cockblocks. Also, the money made from rich old guys wanting to shoot big animals contributes directly to protecting the reproductively viable elephants from poachers.
  
  This is the way it’s supposed to work, but if it makes a lot of money in Africa, there’s probably a lot of corruption too.

  I was just talking about this with someone today. How is using an unfair advantage to kill another living thing an accomplishment? Isn’t that fairly psychotic especially since it panders to their ego?... I’m cool with hunting for food within the restrictions of a “season” but trophy hunting is irredeemably fucked and I would like to see these people The Most Dangerous Game’d.
