      was disappointed they didn't mention her at all in the documentary. it's very obvious they had to leave a lot of stuff out for legal reasons. i'm not sure but i think she showed up recently to a police station and said she's fine. or something like that.

    going clear was good but it was a bit boring at times. i say that only because the previous documentary i watched was all 6 parts of the jinx in one sitting. when i was in hs, i almost went to be possibly brainwashed. i was just walking and a lady was passing out flyers, i took a flyer, and kept walking. i read that it was a scientology thing. it was to an event to watch a propaganda film of theirs. i almost went just to go and laugh at it. i'm not a religious or spiritual person so i know i wouldn't have gotten caught up in it but some of the stories by people in the documentary start like that, "just wanted to check it out."

    edit: to those who have seen "going clear," tom cruise and david miscavige are in love with each other right? i get gay vibe from david miscavige and then when they said that scientology is against homosexuality, i was like, "oh okay. for sure he is then."

    honestly had no opinion of megan fox except that she's really pretty and bad at acting except for jennifer's body. i think she was perfect for that role. then i found out she's religiously into astrology, numerology, etc and think that's ridic.

    so i guess rihanna's "bitch better have my money" is about TIDAL.

    templor those of you who want to revoke Scientology's tax exempt status but would leave other churches alone how would you justify it?

    I would if I were allowed to arbitrarily decided these things I would. The closest objective reason I've been able to come up with is that while any church could bleed people dry it seems to be Scientology's basic MO. Like if you walked into most churches/temples/mosques they will tell you about their beliefs for free and if they have any classes for people thinking of joining/converting they will be free or charge some nominal fee for a book that they would waive if you really couldn't afford it.

    But I'm not entirely sure that it's not just that I dislike Scientology because it seems creepier than other religions, which bad policy.

    I also understand why some people want to abolish tax exemptions for all churches. I don't necessarily agree but that's an argument I can logically follow.

      Church are exempt (or are meant to be) because they do public "service". Even if it's just helping parishioners. But the idea is that the taxes go towards the community. So$ don't do shit for the community. They rip people off instead.
