I thought we’d seen this one already. Because I requested heel 1 as a gift from my favorite Defamer commentator. I haven’t received my shoes yet but never fear. It is my half-birthday today, therefor the perfect excuse to buy me a gift. It’s almost like a half-birthday miracle if you are into that sort of thing.

Day 92:

Okay, my drama from the weekend. I am going to write this a few sentences at a time because it's overwhelming and I'm doing data entry at work to break up the monotony of typing about my life.

1) My ex and I are still friends, but we bicker a lot, so we're trying to go to our corners and stop talking to each other so much to see if that helps ease up on all the fighting.

2) My ex is seeing a new lady, which I encouraged him to do, and promised I would not give him a hard time about.

3) My ex, and SEVERAL of my other friends, only usually see each other once a week at our Sunday pub quiz. I've been doing PQ for like 10 years, and it's "my thing."

4) Last night, my ex asked me if I would be at PQ next Sunday. I said, yeah, he asked "Um,,, could you not?"

5) Cue: MY EMOTIONS

I told him I felt hurt, which I did, and as the night progressed, I felt even more hurt. I told him, fine, I won't go. He said saying "fine" meant I was being a dick about it. I She apparently knows about me, but doesn't "want to deal with ex drama" (understandable), so the solution is to ask ME not to go. I had the first real alcohol in my system in a week so I think that contributed to me just going overkill on sobbing silently at the table. I come to learn later that our other teammates had advised him NOT to do that to me, because they knew it would be hurtful, but he didn't listen. I finally stopped crying and asked him if he minded if I would come next week, but join a different team. He told me, don't worry about it, just come. Because one of my teammates talked to him about it and basically said that was a real dick thing to do. He texted me this morning and apologized for not considering my feelings.

So I feel like a winner on two counts: something happened emotionally and I didn't cause it or make it worse by picking a fight and whatever (although he did mock me when I got worried our answer sheet hadn't been turned in, so I hurled a "you know what? fuck you!" at him, but other than that, I was silent to him), and I had witnesses to him being a shit and who called him out on it and made him come to his senses on my behalf, without me being like "oh can you tallllllk to him for me and make him seeee reason?"

You might think this is a little thing, but I moved up here to be with him and have no other friends that I see other than these people in town, so if you ask me to avoid my thing, my one thing, then I think that's shitty. He did realize that it wasn't cool, and told me if he does bring his new lady, they'll be at their own table or something. Also, like, if they're going to be a thing, we should probably meet and get that awkwardness out of the way because I'm in his life, good or bad, and we'll probably have to be around each other at some point anyway.

Oh my god therapy session over. If I hadn't been drinking (and seen my subsequent bar tab, YIKES), it probably would NOT have gone down as dramatically. And, yeah, I have considered "maybe don't try to be friends with your ex?" and our social circles are a Venn Diagram with like almost 100% overlap right now.
