    It was my understanding that the Saudis were kind of okay with the falling oil prices because it was hurting their rivals even more than they were hurting them, a zero sum game. Has something in that calculus changed if the implication is that the Saudis are intervening here specifically to bolster the oil market?

      Exactly. The Saudis give zero fucks about oil prices since they will always have the upper hand. In fact, the Saudis said they won't even consider an emergency meeting with OPEC until Brent reaches at least $40...right now it's closer to $60. But good on Hamilton for connecting two dots out of order.
