    So Columbia University, the school that had a student have to resort to carrying her mattress around to get people to listen to her rape story, is investigating another school's rape and sexual assault response?

      Well, the journalism grad school, which is know for reviewing issues in journalism, is not the same people in administration adjudicating undergrad rape accusations.

      I think that says a lot about the state of affairs, really - our entire higher education system does a dismal job of treating survivors with respect and decency. You'd be hard pressed to find a school that doesn't have blood on its hands. By all accounts the problem is endemic, whether you're dealing with a state school/"party school", smaller liberal arts campus, or an anointed Ivy à la Columbia. The entire system is guilty.
