SiriusXM has had a 24/7/365 Xmas music station for years now.

Also, "a clamoring?" Uh, okay. I'm sure there are hordes of people in hideous sweaters beating down the door all year long wanting to hear Xmas music. Uh huh.

I am OK with XM having it. Maybe because it's subscription so those who pay should have channels for just about everything?

As a native Albanian (Albanyite?), I can say there might very well be clamouring and year-round Christmas sweaters. Probably mostly by my extended family.

I do think that The Eagle's Please Come Home for Christmas is a fantastic love song that should played year round. I even toyed with the idea of playing it at my wedding.

Also, the Boston Pops' Sleigh Ride is a great addition to your running mix, even in August. That being said, there should be a seasonal Christmas song rule like there is about wearing linen or white patent leather shoes.

...well, I guess you can play "Fairytale of New York" at times when it ISN'T Christmas...

Knowing that this exists makes me want to puncture my eardrums.

Publicity grab. One station here said they were changing to an all "Louie, Louie" station. It was surprising how many people have covered that song but after a little while they did the switch of genres that they were planning on the entire time.

That's EXACTLY what this is folks. It's the interim period when they fire all or most talent and staff and implement a new format. Fear not—unless you work there!
