Is this anything like when the entire Bush Administration (rather than just their Sec. of State) did the same thing , but about 22 million times over ?

I'm just asking so I can get some context...

I mean, bad judgment in this case. But I understand about not wanting to have to check multiple email accounts; I route my business email through my personal account, too (I just have redundancies set up to maintain an archive).

You must be in the private sector? If you're on a government system of any kind, your salary paid by taxpayer money... No go. You use government systems, period. I can't remember which section of the CFR covers this, but it's the law.

Jesus Christ. This is fucking egregious. Federal employees get annual training on how bad/illegal/irresponsible doing this can be.

City Alderman on East Bumfuck get the same training, too! This is a really, really, stupid and unnecessary thing to do.

Okay, so... I work for a dot-gov federal agency and we absolutely, positively do NOT use personal email for work-related communication unless there's some bizarre extenuating circumstance. And we have these rules because... You guessed it.... we follow federal records retention schedules! Oh, and then there's this little thing called 'network security' that we try to maintain, as best as we can, in the face of gazillions of hackers trying to steal our god-awfully boring bureaucratic communications.

Christ on a bicycle, it just infuriates me when the political appointees running these agencies expect us worker bees to follow every goddamn rule, but they'll waive whatever regulations inconvenience them.

I wish I could star this, twice. Once for content, and twice for "Christ on a bicycle."

I want to like the Clintons. While I didn't want her to be president in 2008, I was impressed with her time at State and her reinventing herself as an actual relatable human, and was warm to the idea of her running for 2016. But the Clintons can't seem to help themselves—they invite scandal. Not even manufactured scandal. They simply wrack up their own slightly suspicious scandals, compromising themselves time and again, forcing them to make deals they might not otherwise make to keep themselves chugging along.

Perhaps this isn't as bad as it sounds. Perhaps it isn't a harbinger of what a Hillary Clinton administration would be. But it's unsettling enough that I'm hoping the Dems have another arrow in the nominee quiver at the ready.

Well with the way the Republicans are setting themselves up for failure the Dems don't need another candidate. It'll be interesting to see if the Republicans can get out of their own way in 2015

I've seen comments that the relevant law that would cover the Sec of State in regards to email wasn't actually signed into law until Clinton had left the post.

Don't know if that's accurate, though.

So is this "Emailgate" or "Emailghazi" or something? How are we branding this scandal, such as it is?

I will award three internets for the best answer.
