my favorite game to play is "WHAT IS THIS COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING?"

    I would've guessed sexy cologne.

Please start this Kinja. I will contribute. I live in Vegas where all advertising is the same so no one knows what they're buying.

This commercial is insanely unrealistic and obviously written by an all-male staff.

A black bra under a white shirt? No woman would make such a mistake!

I wear black bras because I have darker skin. White bras and most light-colored bras are very visible if I wear a white shirt. So I don't think it's always a mistake. This commercial still sucks, though.

are most women in the habit of sensually stroking their cleavage before they put their clothes on?

Sometimes men shove their hands into their briefs to make sure the boys aren't squished, sometimes women do the same for their cleavage. And women can do a touch test to make sure the girls aren't pushing out of a cup in a way that'll make it look like you have three girls instead of two.

Duh. Of course. If you leave 3 or more of us unattended in the same space, we also have pillow fights (if indoors) or start playfully washing the nearest car (if outside). I thought this was common knowledge?

So who's the ad agency responsible? Kind of pertinent point.

Ah. In-house work is often terrible. The client rarely knows what's good for itself, but they always think they do.

Yeah, I keep coming back to that point, too. Are Kazam phones known for being wrinkly? Does this woman just hate the idea of putting a cold phone next to her face, so she warms it up when she's expecting calls? I'm so far down the rabbit hole on this one.

I thought it was a Haynes commercial. o.o Phone commercials should not want to make you want to go out and clothing shop.

    Pointless sex in advertising. Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.

I used to write radio ads, and I would have clients who wanted sexy ads for their businesses. One customer who used to drive me bonkers was an oil change place.

Oil. Change. Place. I get it, you get in lube up, slide out.... I get it. I can write sexual innuendo with the best of them. Some of the ads I wrote were fairly clever, but I always tried to skirt to sexist garbage.

Eventually I was overruled by the sales rep and client. So I gave up. They became sexist and stupid. All the cleverness I had in previous ads.... gone. He even advertised ladies day.... for oil changes.

This is just shit misogynistic garbage.

Car-related places (dealerships, mechanics, whatever) are at the top of my "I'm probably going to get sketched out and/or condescended to (maybe both!) while I'm there, better wear my unsexiest clothing" list. Any such place whose advertising was over-the-top sexualized would never, ever, ever get any business from me.

That's my thought as well. But these guys seemed to think doing this will attract more women. When I get an oil change, I want to be treated just like any guy who comes in. I own my car. I changed my windshield wipers all by myself. I put gas in my car, and other fluids.

No, I may not be able to change my own tire or oil. But I know women who can. I know men who can't. It's why I have BCAA. The majority of adults drive and own their own vehicles. Every single person should be treated equally, and when women don't get treated equally whether we're just getting an oil change or buying a new vehicle... WE TAKE OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

Is that the new fad diet? Getting all your exercise by keeping your clothing in your living room so you have to walk the extra feet, followed by some morning kitchen-adjacent ironing.

This is what happens when all your walls are windows. There's no place to put a closet.

Yes! You also burn a few extra calories by touching all the furniture in your house in an unnecessarily sensuous manor.
